Blackbar at the Eat & Greet BBQ in Hoogvliet!

Yesterday, we attended the Eat & Greet BBQ🫕 hosted by our partner Snoeck. It was a great opportunity to catch up with industry professionals, suppliers and colleagues from across the sector.

In our mobile showroom, the Blackbar, we showcased the possibilities of lighting and gave visitors a firsthand look at a selection of our lighting solutions.

Project Ventoux Cycle Shop

Ventoux is a bicycle shop for the sporty cyclist, offering a wide range of road, mountain, and gravel bikes from top brands 🚵. The staff have years of cycling experience and technical knowledge, ensuring customers receive expert advice. For a shop selling high-quality products, the right lighting is essential to show the bikes off to their best advantage.

We used a combination of the Odion XS, Pointer Spot Track 3F and Pointer Spot Pendant 3F to create a dynamic lighting setup.These luminaires are all compatible with a 3F track system, ensuring maximum flexibility and a calm, cohesive shop environment.

The Odion XS track spot serves as the primary luminaire for this project and offers a CRI of 97, ensuring optimal colour rendering for the bicycles. Pendant luminaires enhance the space by providing additional accent lighting, drawing specific bicycle models into focus. All track luminaires feature gold accents, supporting the shop's premium character.

On Thursday, April 16, we hosted an exclusive Learn & Lunch seminar on ‘Smart Lighting in Climate Ceilings’ in collaboration with Helvar and Interalu.

This seminar focused on sustainable lighting and integrated building solutions. The following topics were discussed:

▪️BREEAM and the role of lighting and building solutions
▪️Energy monitoring as the key to efficient management
▪️Cooling ceilings with integrated lighting for optimal comfort
▪️Smart lighting control for flexibility and ease of use
▪️New technologies that go beyond HCL

We also shared insights about the challenges and solutions of large-scale BREEAM projects, where custom lighting plays a key role.

Plus Ultra Wageningen III: a unique BREEAM Excellent project

Kadans' Plus Ultra Wageningen is the epicentre of agri-food innovation, located in an international hub for sustainable agriculture and food technology. The building offers flexible lab and office spaces and brings start-ups, scale-ups and established companies together around the future of our food system.

The building was designed with a strong focus on sustainability and is BREEAM Excellent certified. Built almost entirely from wood and CO₂-negative, lighting plays an important role in realising this ambition.

Illuxtron lighting solutions
Various Illuxtron solutions were utilised in the project, including the Odion track spot, LED Panel B, and a custom Cortina luminaire.

In close collaboration with Van den Pol Elektrotechniek, we developed a customised Cortina luminaire with exact tolerances and sensor control for an energy-efficient lighting solution.
