“Biodegradation: help or hype?” explores a key question for our industry: should coatings be designed for biodegradability?

At Stahl, we believe sustainable chemistry should deliver performance that matches or exceeds fossil-based alternatives.

In this context, biodegradability is not always a straightforward solution; its value depends on the application and how a coating is used. While valuable for short-life applications, biodegradability can at times compromise durability in long-life uses.

That’s why we focus on performance first, while reducing Scope 3 emissions and increasing renewable carbon content.

Empowering educators to shape the next generation 🎓🤝

At Stahl Mexico’s Center of Excellence, we welcomed teachers from CIATEC (Research and Technological Development Centre) for a specialised training in leather and automotive leather finishing.

This training is designed not only to deepen their own expertise, but to equip the teachers with practical, industry knowledge they can pass directly on to their students. By combining hands-on experience with theory, we support educators in bringing real-world processes into the classroom.
