❓IFAT 2026 FAQ 5: “Mag ik één cappuccino alsjeblieft?” ☕

Maar natuurlijk, daar staat onze barista voor! Een vervolgvraag zou kunnen zijn: “Wat was het meest besproken onderwerp aan jullie koffietafel?”

✅ Eerlijk? Verstoppingen en frequent onderhoud aan pompen in rioolgemalen. Bij vrijwel iedereen leeft dezelfde vraag: “Hoe krijgen we minder uitval zonder telkens te moeten ingrijpen?” Precies dáár ging het over tijdens de cappuccino op stand B1.339.

Dat we koffie uitschonken op onze stand was dan ook niet voor niks: de beste technische gesprekken ontstaan vaak als je even de tijd neemt. Koffie was ons excuus voor een goed gesprek: over uitdagingen, wensen, praktijkcases maar bovenal wat er echt nodig is om een gemaal operationeel te houden.

❓IFAT 2026 FAQ 5: “Could I have one cappuccino, please?” ☕

Of course—our barista was ready and waiting! A logical follow-up question might be: “So, what was the most talked-about topic at your coffee table?”

✅ Honestly? Blockages and frequent pump maintenance in wastewater pumping stations. Nearly everyone raised the same question: “How can we reduce downtime without having to intervene time and time again?” That’s exactly what we discussed over cappuccinos at booth B1.339.

Serving coffee at our stand was no coincidence: the best technical conversations often start when you take a moment to slow down. Coffee was simply our way of opening the door to meaningful discussions—about challenges, requirements, real-world cases, and above all, what’s truly needed to keep a pumping station up and running.

Deze week in Factory Friday: Gastheer OWIN jaarvergadering & factory tour 🔴🔵🟡

Deze week hadden wij de eer om gastheer te zijn voor de jaarvergadering van de OWIN ondernemersvereniging Winterswijk, op onze locatie in Winterswijk.

Na de jaarvergadering namen we de aanwezigen kort mee in het verhaal van inmiddels al meer dan 120 jaar pompproductie in Winterswijk. Vervolgens gaven we een rondleiding door onze fabriek, we lieten zien hoe we hier nog steeds van 'zand tot klant' samen onze pompen maken.

Onze dank aan de OWIN en alle aanwezigen; het blijft mooi om ons wereldwijde verhaal lokaal te mogen delen. 🦾

This week in Factory Friday: hosting the OWIN annual meeting & factory tour 🔴🔵🟡

This week, we had the pleasure of hosting the annual meeting of the OWIN (Ondernemerskring Winterswijk) at our site in Winterswijk.

Following the meeting, we took our guests on a brief journey through more than 120 years of pump manufacturing in Winterswijk. We then guided them through our factory, showing how we still produce our pumps here together—from “sand to customer”.

Our thanks go out to OWIN and all attendees; it remains a privilege to share our global story right here at home. 🦾

Een welverdiend ‘vroeg’ pensioen: geniet ervan, Berry! 💐

Na een decennium inzet neemt Berry Brockötter afscheid van ons om te gaan genieten van zijn ‘vroeg’ pensioen. Berry was werkzaam als EHS Specialist en preventiemedewerker. Dagelijks zette hij zich in voor ieders veiligheid binnen onze organisatie. Berry vertelde ons zijn motto: “een dag niet gelachen...”, en sloot deze af met: “… gelukkig was er elke dag iets te lachen!” 😄

Berry zijn tip nemen wij in ieder geval ter harte: “Blijf waarderen wat je hebt, zorg goed voor jezelf én voor elkaar!”

A well-deserved ‘early’ retirement: enjoy, Berry! 💐

After a decade of dedication, Berry Brockötter is saying goodbye to us to enjoy his ‘early’ retirement. Berry worked as an EHS Specialist and prevention officer, contributing every day to the safety of everyone within our organization. He shared his motto with us: “a day without laughter…”, finishing it with: “…fortunately, there was something to laugh about every single day!” 😄

We will certainly take Berry’s advice to heart: “Keep appreciating what you have, take good care of yourself—and of each other!”

❓IFAT 2026 FAQ 4: “Jullie hadden toch al een visvriendelijke pomp? Wat is er anders aan de VDX?” 🐟

✅ Klopt: wij introduceerden in 2008 al een gepatenteerde, award winnende visvriendelijke propeller pomp waarmee o.a. 100% van de paling en bijna 98% van schubvissen een gemaal onbeschadigd kan passeren, de zogeheten VPF-pompenreeks.

De VDX-pompenreeks is een uitbreiding op onze visveilige pompen range. Het is een ‘mixed flow’ pomp, waarbij de ‘X’ staat voor onze gepatenteerde visvriendelijke Xcentric waaier met uitgebalanceerd 2-kanaals ontwerp. De grote voordelen zijn dat dit pomptype érg compact bouwt en extreem efficiënt is, óók met kleinere capaciteiten en bij hogere opvoerhoogten.

En dat zónder concessies op visvriendelijkheid. 🦾

❓IFAT 2026 FAQ 4: “Didn’t you already have a fish-friendly pump? What is different about the VDX?” 🐟

✅ Correct: back in 2008, we introduced a patented, award-winning fish-friendly propeller pump that allows, among other things, 100% of eels and nearly 98% of scaled fish to pass through a pumping station unharmed—the so-called VPF pump series.

The VDX pump series is an extension of our fish-safe pump range. It is a ‘mixed flow’ pump, where the ‘X’ stands for our patented fish-friendly Xcentric impeller with a balanced 2-channel design. The major advantages are that this pump type is very compact and extremely efficient, even with smaller capacities and at higher heads.

And all this without compromising on fish-friendliness. 🦾

Deze week hebben we in Winterswijk in aanwezigheid van onze klanten twee verticale oppervlaktewaterpompen getest op onze Proefstand. 🧪 Beide pompen, behorende tot één order, zijn visvriendelijk mede dankzij onze Xcentric waaier. 🐠

2️⃣ VDXO1-350.105: 1260 m³/h @ 5,28 mLC

De laatste foto met de euromunt? Die is gemaakt op het maximale werkpunt tijdens de FAT-test! Dankzij het uitmuntende trillingsgedrag van dit pomptype bleef deze netjes staan! 😉

This week in Winterswijk, we tested two vertical surface water pumps on our test bench in the presence of our customers. 🧪 Both pumps, part of a single order, are fish-friendly thanks in part to our Xcentric impeller. 🐠

The last photo with the euro coin? That was taken at the maximum operating point during the FAT test! Thanks to the excellent vibration performance of this pump type, it stayed perfectly in place! 😉

❓IFAT 2026 FAQ 3: “Jullie slogan ‘Still pumping like it’s 1975?’, waar slaat deze op?” 🤨

✅ Veel afvalwaterpompen die vandaag de dag draaien of worden geplaatst, zijn gebaseerd op technieken die een halve eeuw geleden zijn bedacht, terwijl ons afvalwater is veranderd van samenstelling. Met name kunstvezels leiden tot verhoogd energie verbruik en verstoppingen.

De innovatieve XRW-pompenreeks met Xcentric waaier technologie is ontworpen om de vezels die veelal afkomstig zijn uit vochtige doekjes probleemloos te verpompen.

Deze vezels en andere verontreinigingen verpompen zonder te versnipperen mét een hoog rendement is een combinatie van eigenschappen waar onze pompen in uitblinken.

✅ Many wastewater pumps currently in operation or being installed are based on technologies developed half a century ago, even though the composition of our wastewater has changed. Synthetic fibers in particular, lead to increased energy consumption and blockages.

The innovative XRW pump series with Xcentric impeller technology is designed to effortlessly pump fibers that often originate from wet wipes.

Pumping these fibers and other contaminants without shredding them, while maintaining high efficiency, is a combination of features in which our pumps excel.

Deze week in Factory Friday: betrouwbare brandbeveiliging op industriële schaal. ❤️‍🔥

We zien een VDF3-300.500 brandbluspomp voor een installatie van onze afdeling Commercial Fire. Het gaat om een 3-waaierige verticale turbinepomp, aangedreven door een holle-as elektromotor van ca. 224 kW (300 hp), direct boven op de pomp gemonteerd. Dankzij dit compacte ontwerp is de installatie ideaal waar ruimte beperkt is.

Met een totale lengte van bijna 6 meter is dit een indrukwekkende installatie, bestemd voor een industriële plant in de haven van Antwerpen.

De prestaties spreken voor zich: een capaciteit van 9.500 liter per minuut, onder een druk van 9,2 bar. ✅

This week on Factory Friday: reliable fire protection on an industrial scale. ❤️‍🔥

We’re looking at a VDF3-300.500 fire pump for an installation by our Commercial Fire division. It’s a 3-impeller vertical turbine pump, driven by a hollow-shaft electric motor of approx. 224 kW (300 hp), mounted directly on top of the pump. Thanks to this compact design, the installation is ideal where space is limited.

With a total length of nearly 6 meters, this is an impressive installation, intended for an industrial plant in the Port of Antwerp.

The performance speaks for itself: a capacity of 9,500 liters per minute, at a pressure of 9.2 bar. ✅

Deze week in Factory Friday: FM‑gekeurde brandbluspompen voor Brunei! ❤️‍🔥

Voor de olie- en gasindustrie in Brunei leveren we drie HGT1‑300.650 splitcasepompen als brandbluspompen (FM‑goedgekeurd). Op de foto worden de pompen in onze montage voorbereid voor een witnessed hydrostatische test.

Elke pomp is uitgelegd om een capaciteit van 840 m³/h bij 130 m opvoerhoogte te halen. Het benodigde vermogen wordt bij twee van deze pompen geleverd door een Caterpillar‑dieselmotor van 522 kW, en bij één door een elektromotor van 500 kW (6.600 V). Als de pompsets compleet zijn, volgt de performance test.

Bewust een splitsing in diesel- en elektro aangedreven: betrouwbaarheid staat centraal in deze kritische toepassing. 🔥

This week on Factory Friday: FM-approved fire pumps for Brunei! ❤️‍🔥

We are supplying three HGT1-300.650 split-case pumps as fire pumps (FM-approved) for the oil and gas industry in Brunei. The photo shows the pumps being prepared in our assembly area for a witnessed hydrostatic test.

Each pump is designed to achieve a capacity of 840 m³/h at a head of 130 m. The required power is supplied by a 522 kW Caterpillar diesel engine for two of these pumps, and by a 500 kW (6,600 V) electric motor for one. Once the pump sets are complete, the performance test will follow.

A deliberate split between diesel and electric drive: reliability is paramount in this critical application. 🔥
