Typhonix AS is proud to announce that we have been awarded the Low Shear Pumping system contract for Equinor’s Breidablikk project.

Typhonix Low Shear Pumps are field proven low shear technology. The pumps are robust and efficient centrifugal pumps, increasing the produced water treatment efficiency through reduced oil droplet breakup, thereby reducing the environmental impact.

Typhonix Low Shear Pumps are developed in cooperation with Norges forskningsråd and leading oil companies: Equinor, ConocoPhillips, Vår Energi and Neptune Energy. The pumping system will be delivered in collaboration with our partners: AB GF Swedenborg Ingeniörsfirma and Dickow Pumpen GmbH & Co. KG.

A recent installation of multiple Typhoon Valve System on major operator’s asset in the GoM resulted in a significant improvement of the water quality.

The definition and the purpose of the low shear valve is to reduce the shear forces acting on the fluids, while maintaining control properties. One effective way to reduce the shear forces in a control valve is to increase the volume involved in the energy dissipation.
