I am updating the digital museum of my website Procyon Robotics with a list of specifications for each robot, but need help to finish the lists for my Modulus robots.

I am stuck on the codenames for my Modulus robots, since most of these were found in an old magazine full of misspelled words and wrong information.

Everything for Modulus has the same codenames with 2 letters and 3 numbers (AB 123), with the Base as BS 101, the arm as AR 401, the body as BD 701, the head as HD 901, and so on...

But in the magazine the Service & Security robot with arm is called RB-7, the Moddy robot with Home Security slice is called Moddy 1, and the Moddy robot with 16-bit CPU is called Moddy 2B.

It feels like these codenames are wrong because of what all the other codenames look like, and they should be something like RB 701, MD 901, and MD 902B instead.

So I am hoping someone has information about the Modulus robots and their codenames through some other old magazines or catalogs, or maybe just remembers anything about it after all these years.

Great news, everyone!

I now have 3 more user manuals for the Plotter Device, Service slice, and the Speech slice, thanks to page follower Andrea P. for sending over scans of these manuals that I thought never existed.

Now I can finally get more use out of my Modulus robots and even hear its voice for the first time, having Speech slices for both Italian and English.

Just send me a message if you want the user manuals sent over.

I will also try to translate them to English soon enough, which might take some time since the words in the English Speech slice are probably arranged differently.

Here is a lucky find I was able to buy on eBay.

A big vintage sticker with Modulus in the same style as the pin badge in my collection that I use as the profile picture of this page.

It is translated in Google as "Why are you looking at me like that?", which seems a strange thing to put on a sticker, but oh well.

I plan to put this in its own little frame in my robot room.

I visited the Norwegian Museum Of Science And Technology again where Modulus is still on display in a nice glass case for everyone to see.

It was confirmed by the man who sold these in Norway that this is in fact the same unit that I visited long ago that inspired me to create robotics, and so far I have made a couple of CAD prototypes of a small robot bug kit, and a much larger personal robot.

I also asked one of the leading museum employees if they would consider displaying my collection of the remaining Modulus versions, along with my other large robots, and so far they seemed interested, so we'll just have to see what happens.

I found another picture of the Moddy 2 prototype with green LED eyes and body display, here with Frithjof Arngren who was the Norwegian importer of Modulus through his store Arngren Electronics.

This was where I was amazed to see a real robot for the first time when I was very young, and decided right then that I wanted to build robots when I grow up.

It took me over 20 years to find one since then, and it has kept inspiring me to learn about electronics and robotics, currently working on my first robot kit, and a much larger personal robot for later, depending on what funds I can raise for it.
