Happy Day of the Seafarer! 🦐⚓️🌏

The Day of the Seafarer (25 June) was established in a resolution adopted by the 2010 Diplomatic Conference in Manila to adopt the revised STCW Convention.

Day of the Seafarer is recognized by the United Nations as an observance day.

On this Day of the Seafarer, June 25th, we want to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of seafarers around the world. Their dedication and resilience are the backbone of global trade and commerce, ensuring that goods and resources reach every corner of the earth. As we honor these maritime professionals, let's reflect on their critical role, the challenges they face, and the sacrifices they make.

Seafarers are the unsung heroes of the global economy. They navigate the world's oceans, transporting over 90% of the world's goods and not to forget; they fish krill, make sure crew and offloads are transported and well taken care of. From the food on our tables to the fuel in our vehicles, their work touches every aspect of our daily lives. Their expertise ensures the safe and efficient movement of cargo, keeping the wheels of commerce turning.

The life of a seafarer is not an easy one. They endure long periods away from their families, often facing harsh weather conditions and the inherent dangers of the sea. Their unwavering commitment and resilience in the face of these challenges are truly commendable. Seafarers demonstrate exceptional skill and professionalism, ensuring the safety of their vessels and cargo.

Seafarers make significant personal sacrifices to perform their duties. Being away from home for months at a time, missing important family milestones, and coping with the isolation of life at sea require immense strength and dedication.

To all the seafarers, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your hard work, bravery, and perseverance are deeply appreciated. The world's oceans are vast and challenging, but thanks to you, they are also a conduit for global connection and prosperity.

Vi ser etter kandidater til stillingen som Fishmate til våre krillfartøy i Antarktis.

Krav til stillingen:
COC D4
Gyldig Sikkerhetskurs STCW
Helseattest godkjent av Sjøfartsdirektoratet
Gyldig sjømannsbok/pass
Arbeidsspråk engelsk

Ansvar under drift:
• Ansvarlig for fiskeoperasjonene mens du er på vakt
• Leder av dekksmannskap under alle dekksoperasjoner knyttet til fiskeri mens du er på vakt
• Bistå med rapportering som kreves av kaptein
• Assistere 2nd Offiser med sikkerhetsansvar for radioutstyr
• Være kjent med plikter etter mønstringsplan og mønstringslister for redningsflåter.
• Sørge for at alle mulige tiltak er tatt for å utføre sikre operasjoner på dekk
• Bruk sikkerhetsutstyr etter behov
• Ansvarlig for å se at alle mannskaper bruker sikkerhetsutstyr som påkrevd under enhver operasjon
• Rapportering i Shipadmin
