Hvordan ser de unge politikerne på fremtiden for norsk sokkel og olje- og gassindustrien? Hvor står industrien i 2050 eller i 2100?

24. august 2026 besøkte ledere fra flere ungdomspartier med moderpartier på Stortinget Edvard Grieg-feltet vest for Stavanger. Politikerne fikk oppleve hele reisen offshore: å ta på seg overlevingsdrakten som er standard for offshoreflyvning, få omvisning på plattformen, spise lunsj om bord med ansatte, se lugarene der ansatte bor når de er på jobb, og besøke hjertet av plattformen, kontrollrommet. PWP Flare Successfully Installed on Valhall

Another important milestone has been reached in the Valhall PWP-Fenris project.

The 130-metre flare, built in Sandnessjøen and standing taller than Oslo Plaza, has now been safely installed on the new PWP topside at Valhall.

The flare is a key part of the platform’s safety system, ensuring the safe handling and controlled burning of excess gas during start-ups, shutdowns and other operational situations.

Built by Aker Solutions in Sandnessjøen, this delivery demonstrates what the local industry can achieve through precision, expertise and craftsmanship. From the first steel cut in 2025 to successful offshore installation, this has been a true team effort.

Valhall PWP safely installed offshore
Last week, the Valhall PWP topside left Aker Solutions yard at Stord. Now, it has been safely installed on the Valhall field, marking a major milestone in the Valhall PWP-Fenris development.

The installation marks an important step in the continued development of the Valhall field and bringing the Fenris gas discovery on stream. The new platform will connect the Valhall and Fenris fields, more than doubling the area’s gas processing capacity and helping to secure energy supply, value creation and production from the Valhall area for decades to come.

The project has involved 17 yards and fabrication sites. From the jacket delivered by Aker Solutions in Verdal and the wellbay module from Drydocks World in Dubai, to the flare tower from Aker Solutions in Sandnessjøen, the utility module from Worley Rosenberg in Stavanger and the bridge and MEG module from Nymo in Grimstad, each delivery has played an important role before final assembly and integration at Stord.

This milestone reflects the efforts of teams across the entire value chain, working together as OneTeam to deliver safely, on time and with quality.

Det er med stor sorg vi har mottatt budskapet om Hans Majestet Kongens bortgang.

På vegne av alle ansatte ønsker jeg å uttrykke vår dypeste medfølelse med Dronningen og kongefamilien.

Gjennom et langt liv i tjeneste for Norge var kong Harald V et samlende symbol for vår nasjon. Kongen møtte mennesker med varme, klokskap og verdighet, og har bidratt til å styrke fellesskapet i både gode og vanskelige tider.

Hans lederskap, integritet og omsorg for mennesker har satt dype spor i landet vårt. Vi minnes kong Harald V med stor respekt og takknemlighet.

Våre tanker går i dag til kongefamilien og til alle som sørger over tapet av et høyt respektert statsoverhode.

It is with great sadness that we received the news of the passing of His Majesty the King.

On behalf of all our employees, I would like to express our deepest condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family.

Throughout a long lifetime of service to Norway, King Harald V was a unifying symbol of our nation. He met people with warmth, wisdom and dignity, and helped strengthen our sense of community in both good times and difficult times.

His leadership, integrity and care for people have left a profound mark on our country.

We willl remember King Harald V with great respect and gratitude.

Today, our thoughts are with the Royal Family and with all those mourning the loss of a highly respected Head of State.

𝟭𝟮𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗸𝗮𝗿𝘃.
Production has started from the Skarv Satellite Project, consisting of the Alve Nord, Idun Nord and Ørn discoveries in the Norwegian Sea.

The three developments were delivered one year ahead of the original schedule and add around 120 million barrels of oil equivalent in recoverable resources to the Skarv area.

A big thank you to our employees, alliance partners and suppliers who made this milestone possible.

Stortingets energi- og miljøkomité besøkte denne uken Aker BP i Stavanger for dialog om fremtiden på norsk sokkel og Norges rolle som langsiktig energileverandør til Europa.

Vi delte våre perspektiver på behovet for stabile rammevilkår, høy verdiskaping og lavere utslipp og viste frem hvordan teknologi, sanntidsdata og nye arbeidsformer bidrar til tryggere og mer effektive operasjoner.
