Water is part of every step in aluminium production, and managing it responsibly matters. 💪

On , here are some of the ways we’re working to reduce our impact and use this resource more efficiently. 🌊 We are changing the game by treating water as a circular resource:

Recovery: At our Paragominas mine, we meet approx. 85% of our water demand by recovering it directly from our processes.

Harvesting: We turn rain into a resource - in 2026, 30% of our surface water withdrawals in Brazil came from captured rainwater.

Efficiency: Through modernization, our Extrusions business has reduced water withdrawals by 34% since 2021. We always have to improve, we are committed to using less and reusing more.

Because at Hydro, it’s not just about what we produce, but how we do it. Want to learn more about working at Hydro? Check out our career portal via the link in the comments.
