Wavefoil has entered the Mediterranean!

Krilo Lux has been retrofitted with Wavefoil(tm) retractable bow foils. During the sea trial yesterday, captain Anton Bonifacic stated the following:
"Today the sea had long waves, 1.5 m high. Earlier we had to reduce speed, but after installing Wavefoil(TM) we can operate at normal speed (28 kn). The ship behaves totally different, and we are very happy. The test was done with waves from all directions, and the ship behaves very well in all wave directions"

2023 is here, and IMO's new CII regulations have entered into force – regulations that get stricter every year. Fortunately, there are steps ship owners can take to prepare their vessels for the tightening requirements.

Wavefoil™ is the only commercial solution that converts the vessel's motions in waves directly into propulsive thrust.

Waves -> propulsion. As simple as that.

Drone footage from November’s Wavefoil installation in Rostein AS’s new live fish carrier “Ro Spirit” at Marine Projects LTD., Poland. Since the bow section was positioned upside down, the foil module was installed upside down. Impressive work by all involved!

Wavefoil is honoured to have received a grant from the Research Council of Norway of NOK 3,44 million to develop a new, fuel-saving bow foil solution for ocean-going vessels sailing at low speed.
We continue our efforts to contribute to a more sustainable shipping.

Meet our co-founder and Head of Hydrodynamics, Eirik Bøckmann, at Tekna – Teknisk-naturvitenskapelig forening's conference on high-speed vessels and ferries on DFDS Norge's ferry from Oslo to Copenhagen Tuesday to Thursday this week. Eirik will present the lessons learned from the MF Teistin and MS Thea Jensen installations, as well as new installations to come.

Another successful installation of Wavefoil™!
Last week, our CTO Erlend Vastveit supervised the installation in Rostein AS's new live fish carrier at Marine Projects LTD., Poland. The vessel will be equipped by Larsnes Mek. Verksted As, Norway in 2023.

Since the hull block is still positioned upside down, the foil module was hoisted and installed upside down. The entire operation was done in less than two days. It is great to see that our efforts to reduce the installation time have paid off. The block will be turned around and assembled with the rest of the hull in the near future.
