Lifelong learning is a big part of being a designer – this week we spent an afternoon levelling up our electronics skills ⚡
️
Under the expert guidance of Daniel Eugene Lacey-McDermott, aka .credible , we went hands-on with the micro:bit and its sensors, then broke out the soldering irons to build our own interactive “Simon Says”-style game on a circuit board.

Fuller brains, emptier coffee cups, and a lot more confidence designing physical products with embedded electronics ✨

I dag fikk vi besøk av Ida Katrine Rishaug .design og Tamara Harbakk Stene .stene som vant første- og andreplass i AHO WORKS AWARDS høsten 2025. Denne prisen deles ut til de beste industridesignprosjektene på , og K8 er stolt sponsor av prisen.

Det var spennenden å få høre mer om prosjektene deres, lykke til med henholdsvis diplom og masterstudier fremover!

Florian is an industrial designer from Frankfurt, Germany, with a strong focus on technology and human-centered innovation. He recently dedicated his diploma project at Darmstadt University of applied sciences to the development of a medical Product.
His motivation is rooted in the belief that design can make a direct impact on people’s lives, especially in critical environments where usability, safety, and reliability are crucial.

Outside of his work he keeps active with different sports and loves spending time with friends. His approach to both design and life is shaped by curiosity, attention to detail, and a drive to connect people, technology, and experiences in meaningful ways.

Frida is an industrial designer from Oslo, Norway, who recently graduated with honours from The Oslo School of Architecture and Design, presenting her final project on workwear for female fishermen. As a founding member of the school’s student-run climate association, she is passionate about using design to better serve both society and the environment. With a background in marketing and experience from starting and running her own company, she approaches design from a creative, environmental, and commercial perspective.

Outside of work, Frida keeps active and gets around on her homemade e-bike — whether heading to the climbing wall, lifting weights at the gym, or tending to her community vegetable garden.
