Our design team provides a wide range of design and engineering services as well as strategic product development, development for IPR protection and other innovation-services. The K8 team consists of highly skilled engineers and designers from all over Europe. We work both with large multinational corporations and small local entrepreneurs. Our values are: playful, fearless and responsible, and w

e work hard to live by those values, which we think result in a better work process and more competitive products. Our aim is to develop products which are less harmful to the environment than its predecessors. Ideally, the products will also contribute towards increased environmental focus in society. Think green, talk green, do green! We always ensure that we have good knowledge of the user and competing products in the market, and are not afraid to explore unknown territory to ensure the best result for our clients!

The mere thought of pest insects is enough to make most people’s skin crawl. When they move in, we want them gone — quickly and discreetly. Out of sight, out of mind.

When Silverfish was awarded DIP funding by to develop the next generation of poison-free pest traps, they brought us on board. For months, our little meeting room was converted into a test lab for our six-legged uninvited guests. 🪲

We did what we always do: take the user’s perspective. When your users are just a few millimetres tall, a tenth of a millimetre can mean the difference between a trap they walk into and one they walk around.

An incredibly rewarding project — and we can’t wait to see where it goes next!

Happy Easter! 🐣 This egg cup is part of Papp Fiction, one of our very first projects — an exploration of cardboard as a design material, completed back in 1999. They’ve come a long way since then and are now part of the permanent collection at the Norwegian National Museum in Oslo.

Hvem skal formgi fremtiden? Denne uken hadde vi gleden av å ta imot en klasse fra Valler videregående skole som fordyper seg i programfaget Design og arkitektur. Marius fortalte historien om hvordan K8 ble til og hva en industridesigner jobber med. Frida tok elevene gjennom studietiden på og hvilke utdanningsmuligheter som finnes i Norge for industridesignere. I en tid der de kreative fagene står under press, er det viktig å fremdeles så frø i neste generasjon designere.

Lykke til med både studier og utdanningsvalg videre – kanskje vi sees igjen om noen år?

Lifelong learning is a big part of being a designer – this week we spent an afternoon levelling up our electronics skills ⚡

Under the expert guidance of Daniel Eugene Lacey-McDermott, aka .credible , we went hands-on with the micro:bit and its sensors, then broke out the soldering irons to build our own interactive “Simon Says”-style game on a circuit board.

Fuller brains, emptier coffee cups, and a lot more confidence designing physical products with embedded electronics ✨

I dag fikk vi besøk av Ida Katrine Rishaug .design og Tamara Harbakk Stene .stene som vant første- og andreplass i AHO WORKS AWARDS høsten 2025. Denne prisen deles ut til de beste industridesignprosjektene på , og K8 er stolt sponsor av prisen.
