Schibsted has decided to pause recruitment of trainees in the fall of 2023. Instead, we will focus on aligning talent intake with business needs and establishing a robust development and learning journey to maximize the impact on Schibsted’s diverse talent pipeline.

☝️ But rest assured - new opportunities for future trainees are coming! This temporary pause is essential to ensure that we provide the best possible opportunities for future program applicants. We understand that many of you are eager to join our trainee program, and we truly appreciate your enthusiasm.

Details regarding the next recruitment period will be communicated as soon as possible!

Reflecting on an Incredible Training Week with Schibsted Trainees!

Two weeks ago, we brought together our remarkable group of Schibsted Trainees for an intensive training week.

The highlight of our week was diving into the training "7 Habits of Highly Effective People."📚 These habits have served as a compass for personal and professional growth, and we are thrilled to equip our trainees with these invaluable insights.

But it wasn't just about learning; it was about the people and the connections we made. Throughout the week, our trainees had the chance to share their experiences, learn from one another, and grow as individuals and as a team 🌱

We witnessed incredible moments of collaboration, innovation, and personal growth. But more importantly, we came away from this week with a deeper sense of purpose and a stronger bond as a team 🙌

We also extend our gratitude to the trainees who have graduated and are embarking on new challenges within Schibsted but outside the trainee program; best of luck! ✨

And as we bid farewell to some, we warmly welcome our new trainees who are just beginning their journey with us. Welcome aboard! 👋

By having their placements in different countries (right now Norway and Sweden), our trainees get the opportunity to experience different celebrations and cultures. So today, we're off celebrating Sweden’s National day!

At the beginning of May, Schibsted ran a ”Get to know Schibsted” event for all new joiners - This time our trainees Anders and Annie moderated the event! ⭐️

By moderating the event, they brought some really cool learnings into their personal- and career development!

And to top of the list (⬇️) they realized that you can plan everything into detail and have your script ready, but their best conversations happened when they went off script! Maybe that’s the biggest learning, or what do you think? 👀

During April, our management trainees Armin and Matilda met students from Umeå University that visited our Stockholm office. ☀️

They got to talk about some interesting projects that they have done at Schibsted, and what makes our traineeprogram so great. It’s always really fun to get to connect with students and hear what they have to say about the future! 🌟

Twice a year, between their working placements, the Management Trainees in Schibsted gather for a training week. The purpose of this week is to gather for workshops, learnings and theoretical framework that will fuel the trainee's journey towards leadership roles in the company.

"A week full of social activities, wilderness experiences and professional lectures on leadership - in sum, a week full of joy, learning and explorations of comfort zones," says management trainee Daniel, who's in his second placement in the program.

"The purpose of the weeks is to gain new expertise - with a new topic each week, challenge our comfort zones and, not least, become better colleagues and friends.

This week was all about leadership and psychological safety. The week started with a two-day trip to Kikut where we went from ice bathing to the sauna and had breathing meditation exercises - Wim Hof style! Between the craziness of trying to become Wim Hof, we had some lectures from internal Schibsted employees on leadership. Here we got a peak into how psychological safety impacts our daily lives and work and how to collaborate better in teams.

After two days in the wilderness, we returned home to the offices for a three-day course in inspirational leadership - using Schibsted PACE leadership principles as a benchmark and guideline. Even though the "founder" of the PACE principles, Morten T. Hansen, needs to have a crash course in engaging the next generation through video, the principles adhered to us all.
The week ended with a social weekend trip to Norefjell.

They will be joining the program in August, with their first of four placements somewhere in our many Schibsted brands.

On Wednesday our Management Trainees in Oslo visited STARTUPLAB at Forskningsparken for some sushi and gründer talk! StartupLab is an incubator and investor for technology startups, helping them grow into trailblazing companies.

The conversation revolved key topics for both sides:
🌳 Growth mindset
🤸 Gründer journeys
🙌 ...and most importantly - the willingness to FAIL in order to succeed.
