🚀 Behind the Wheel: Anmol Kandroo

Meet Anmol Kandroo, our DevOps Manager, whose work ensures that our robots operate seamlessly across industries. Just like in his personal life, where he enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, and skiing, he’s constantly taking on new challenges, pushing limits, and solving complex problems. ⛰️

🔹 What led you to wheel.me, and what has your journey been like so far?
"With a background in leading high-performing Platform & DevOps teams, I was drawn to wheel.me’s pioneering work in robotics and AI. Since joining, I’ve had the opportunity to work with brilliant minds and contribute to our software department’s goals. It’s exciting to see how our work transforms industries like automotive and manufacturing by making automation more accessible and scalable."

🔹 How does DevOps ensure wheel.me’s robots operate reliably?
"DevOps ensures reliability by building robust infrastructure and implementing advanced monitoring. We leverage AWS for scalability and reliability, allowing us to manage fleets of robots centrally and deploy seamless updates. By automating tasks and implementing real-time monitoring, we minimize downtime and maximize productivity. This enhances system reliability and supports the integration of AI technologies for smarter navigation and predictive maintenance."

🔹 What are some of the biggest technical challenges you tackle?
"Managing large-scale deployments while ensuring system uptime is a major challenge. Our remote updates require precise timing and coordination to avoid disruptions, and real-time monitoring is crucial to resolving issues. Additionally, integrating AI and robotics presents unique challenges, such as ensuring seamless communication between hardware and software. Overcoming these challenges involves continuous learning, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and leveraging the latest DevOps tools."

🔹 What makes wheel.me’s robots special?
"It's their ability to transform any object into an autonomous mobile robot. This allows us to cater to a wide range of industries, from manufacturing to healthcare, by retrofitting existing processes without significant infrastructure changes. The integration of AI for object recognition and path planning adds another layer of sophistication, making our robots adaptable and efficient. Working with our robots is fascinating because it pushes the boundaries of automation and creates tangible impact on customers."

🔹 What’s surprising about working in DevOps?
"While many might view DevOps as purely technical, it involves a lot of collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. It demands not just expertise in automation and infrastructure but also the ability to bridge gaps between different teams and stakeholders. This makes DevOps both challenging and rewarding, requiring continuous learning and adaptation."

🚀 Behind the Wheel: Meet Kai Kreos-Nemcok

Today, we’re spotlighting Kai Kreos-Nemcok, whose journey at wheel.me has been about global expansion, hands-on leadership, and negotiating major deals.

🎤 What drew you to wheel.me, and what sets it apart in the world of automation?
"The product and the people. I knew the product was unique and that we could take it far—there still isn’t anything like it on the market. But what really stood out was the team’s ambition and energy. Not only was the product built to disrupt the market, but the people behind it were just as passionate - working hard while still having fun together."

🌍 Navigating global sales across industries and markets must come with challenges and wins. What have been some of the most exciting ones?
"I had focused on Asian markets earlier in my career, but wheel.me pushed me to expand my knowledge globally. We’re working across Europe, the U.S., Mexico, and Asia, and each region—and even megacompanies—has its own culture and way of operating. The key is truly understanding our customers, adapting our product to their needs, and building trust. Since 2022, we’ve signed some of the world’s largest companies, opened offices in three countries, and expanded to many more markets through global partners."

📍 From factory floors to boardrooms, you’ve seen wheel.me in action across the world. What have been some of the most memorable moments?
"There have been many- from demo roadshows across U.S. manufacturing hubs and sharing a house with colleagues in Detroit to coordinating deployments in the field and presenting on large stages. Some moments stand out—like spending a weekend on-site in Mexico to ensure robots were running before a big demo, or delivering a 60-second elevator pitch in an actual elevator in Hong Kong during Epic 2024."

📈 Driving growth in a rapidly scaling robotics company is not always straightforward. What have been some of your biggest learnings?
"Scaling a robotics company requires moving fast, learning continuously, and adapting quickly. It also means stepping up where needed. When our deployment team needed support, I took on leading the team—spending time on-site, optimizing processes, and ensuring commercial and operational teams stayed aligned. Balancing global commercial growth with operational execution—that’s the real challenge."

👩🏻‍💼👩🏻‍🏭 Manufacturing and tech are both male-dominated industries. How has it been to make your mark as a woman?
"It’s been about proving my expertise and finding my voice in spaces where women are often underrepresented. Learning to navigate different situations while staying true to myself has been key.
But I strongly believe that diversity—in all its forms—is essential to business success. Different perspectives spark innovation, create better solutions, and drive real impact. Companies that embrace diversity don’t just do better socially—they perform better strategically."

🚀 Behind the Wheel: Meet Jenny Shan

For the past two weeks, our Deployment Project Manager Jenny Shan has been on the ground near Detroit, leading the launch of one of our most complex projects to date. She’s been coordinating the deployment team, ensuring 24/7 support for the customer, and making sure the 🤖 robots are running seamlessly.

But Jenny’s journey into robotics is just as fascinating as the work she does today.

🎤 From Teaching to Engineering—Jenny’s Journey to wheel.me
Starting as a mathematics teacher, Jenny’s passion for problem-solving led her to engineering. After earning a degree from Columbia University, she joined wheel.me to shape the future of automation.

🔹 Orchestrating Deployment Success
As Deployment Project Manager, Jenny plays a key role in bringing automation projects to life. She coordinates deployment projects both big and small across the 🇺🇸 U.S., ensuring that every implementation runs smoothly from start to finish. Her work includes:

✅ Managing deployment teams on-site and remotely to ensure efficient installations.
✅ Collaborating with customers to prepare everything needed for a successful launch—from technical setup and IT integrations to operational readiness.
✅ Troubleshooting and optimizing solutions in real time to make sure our 🤖 robots seamlessly integrate into dynamic environments.

Did you know? 🤔

One of the most common questions we get from new customers is: Can the Genius 2 robots be pushed or moved manually?

The answer? You don’t actually need to.

Every Genius 2 comes with a remote control equipped with a joystick —a simple, intuitive way to control the robot. Here’s what it can do:

🎮 Manual movement – Need to reposition the robot? Use the joystick mode to move it manually or perhaps map out a new area. Fun fact: You can also activate omnimove for precise parking in tight spots!

🎯 Send the robot to its next position – Running a pre-programmed mission, where the operator should be able to indicate when the cart is fully loaded and ready to go? Just press the next goal button, and the robot goes to the next station —no tablets, phones, or computers needed.

🛑 Emergency stop – The joystick is equipped with a physical emergency button, allowing you to instantly stop the robot in any situation. Safety first!

🔌 Power on/off – Easily turn the robot on or off with a single button.

⚡ Lower for charging – If manual charging is needed, you can just use the lowering function..
