Last week we presented our solutions for more efficient and greener tugs and workboats at DNB NXT HAUGESUND. In the audience was Sverre Meling jr. from Maritimt Forum Haugalandet og Sunnhordland, and he interviewed Carlos Garces from our team about our status and plans. Last week we were invited to Innovasjonsuken OPP in Bergen to present how we contribute to more efficient and sustainable workboats operations ⚓😊

One of the most striking facts was presented by Torleif Markussen Lunde from VIS - Vestlandets Innovasjonsselskap and . Our oceans produce 70% of our oxygen, yet oxygen levels have been going down and it is expected that they continue to shrink. 🥀

We celebrate the region is doing efforts to address the health of our seas. Our CEO Carlos Garcés shared stage with other leaders that are addressing these challenges. We all learned about different initiatives and opportunities for working together.

We look forward to contributing to having more efficient and sustainable operations so we all can enjoy our seas. 🤩

And congratulations to Bú Composite for the award for the most promising idea in Vestlandet! ✨

Today we celebrate this bank holiday to honor the contributions of workers and to advocate for workers' rights. Just like we all do, our icebreaker and team is enjoying a well-deserved break after an intense season🤠
At the same, we want to acknowledge and thank all workers in the maritime industry that are working today keeping transportation moving⚓🛳 Happy 1st of May 😊

We are based in Norway and we are based in Estonia. How comes? Let's go through it 🤠🕰 We started in 2019 in Norway. We developed our solutions and patented the concepts. Testing our icebreaker bow required building a full-scale test and expert partners🧐🎓 We needed as well to validate the concept against different ice scenarios. Then is when realized Estonia is a great ecosystem and has harsh winters.

We partnered with TalTech - Tallinn University of Technology and Tschudi Ship Management to conduct the trial in Estonia. The challenging environment is as well where we can be of most help. That is why are present in both countries 😊 In the picture, part of the Norwegian and Estonian teams plan the next steps in keeping waterways free from ice with some warm coffee ❄☕

It is more typical to see boats out of the sea during winter for maintenance and repairs. That is the opposite of our case. Last week our icebreaking bow prototype was lifted from the sea and stored in Bømlo Skipsservice ⚓ 🚢

During this season the detachable bow faced ice in Norwegian and Estonian waters in a joint project with our sister company in Estonia, Dåfjorden slipp as and TalTech - Tallinn University of Technology 🤝 We improved the performance compared to the previous season it has been good.

So much ice caused some scratches and damages. Having it on land enabled the team to closely analyze the structure. Now during the upcoming season we'll analyze all the collected information and continue its development. 🤓 😊

Our partners in crime at Dåfjorden slipp as built the small and very capable tugboat Liam. This ship is the perfect platform for our icebreaking detachable bow. Nonetheless, the icebreaking bow can be built and adapted to different ship profiles. The icebreaking bow enables smaller ship to open wider canals in the ice, saving fuel and reducing the crewing needs 🛳💡

This season we completed trials in Norway and Estonia. We managed 47 cm of ice and 13 meters wide. It is impressive but it should have been more. The main challenge was maneuvering in ice. We will address these challenges and be ready for the next season🤩 These pictures are testimony of our joint efforts and struggles in making icebreaking more flexible and greener ♻️❄️

Marie Aanensen from our team and Kristjan Tabri from TalTech - Tallinn University of Technology were today on stage at Aker Arctic’s 17th Arctic Passion Seminar. Together they shared the operating principles, where are we heading, and the most interesting use cases for our icebreaking removable bow💡♻️

We had tested the first prototype in Aker Arctic’s facilities. It’s been a pleasure coming back to their office with a more mature solution. As a note, bring your coats if you visit their test tank🥶😅 Many things have evolved in our patented icebreaking design but the key principle remains the same 🤩⛴️
