We are proud to be part of a new research and innovation project on drones in fire and rescue services, funded by Norges forskningsråd and led by SINTEF Digital.
Emergency calls are often brief and unclear. In the first critical minutes, response is therefore often based on worst-case assumptions. A drone can often reach the scene before personnel in a vehicle and stream live video, giving emergency services a better basis for scaling the response up or down.
The project will explore how drones can be used as a response service for alarms and reported incidents, including autonomous BVLOS operations and the use of U-space.
Tiepoint will contribute with the operational framework needed to make this work in practice: training, documentation, procedures and operational governance.
Our job is to help ensure that the project is safe, compliant, scalable and ready for real operational use.
