AgriTech Nordic
AgriTech Nordic is an initiative by T:Lab, Trønder-Avisa and Steinkjerfestivalen located in Steinkjer, Norway. Together with a broad spectre of collaborators, our purpose is to contribute to innovation where new technology intersects with agricultural, forestal and aquacultural industry based out of the region of Trøndelag.
Norway in general, as well as Trøndelag, is yet to establish a platform focusing on creating new industry, new businesses and new jobs alongside our main industries based on the challenges we face during our times, where technology is the main force behind innovation and development. Technology used in the Norwegian main industries today is primarily imported, this being services and goods which could just as well have been developed and produced domestically.
Knowledge, research and the establishment of new industrial players can turn Norway into a global powerhouse for integrating technology into agricultural, forestal and aquacultural industry. Besides being primarily a producer of commodities, Norway is also a leading nation on research and development in the agri-sector. This being said, we still have a way to go before we see new industrial businesses using technology needed for the challenges ahead and taking advantage of the possibilites that comes with it.
Our main goal with the AgriTech Nordic conference is to set the wheels in motion to create an arena, a meeting place, where domestic and international industry, technology developers, entrepreneurs, researchers, investors and politicians can get together, both to be inspired and to network, as well as to challenge each other on the topics of creating and evolving technology and businesses at the height of our main industries today.
