Getting a rocket into the air is only part of the mission. Getting it safely back is another.

For Project FOSSEKALL, we redesigned the recovery module to reduce both weight and complexity. Two parachutes became one, two pneumatic deployment systems became one, and the flotation-system tank was made smaller.

We also reduced the number of bolts needed to assemble the recovery plate and coupler from 17 to just six. ๐Ÿ”ฉ

The avionics received waterproof enclosures, onboard battery charging that actually works, and CAN bus communication, making it easy to add more sensors while keeping the most important electronics protected.

A huge thank you to Tromek Service for manufacturing most of the custom brackets used in the module and helping us bring FOSSEKALL safely back to us! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš€

Cool rocket, and a lilโ€™ data ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš€

FOSSEKALL reached a top speed of approximately 185 m/s and an apogee of 1,600 metres after a 3.5-second burn, followed by a successful recovery.

The burn ended earlier than planned because an insufficient amount of liquid nitrous oxide had been loaded.

The video also shows data recorded by the flight computer, engine control unit, and data from our newly developed electronic pressure regulator throughout the burn.

Not bad for three seconds. ๐Ÿ˜‰

PROJECT FOSSEKALL HAS LAUNCHED!๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš€

This morning, we successfully launched Project FOSSEKALL from Tarva, Norway.

Over the past 11 months, 73 students have dedicated more than 70,000 hours to designing, manufacturing, testing, and integrating this rocket. This morning, all of that hard work left the launch rail.

What started as sketches, simulations, and late nights in the workshop became a flying rocket. ๐Ÿ’™

After months of design, manufacturing, testing, and integration, weโ€™re finally ready to attempt the launch of Project

Today is all about final testing, fine-tuning, and making sure everything is ready. Everyone is working around the clock to give the rocket the best possible chance of success.

Wish us luck! ๐Ÿ’™ ๐Ÿš€

Towards the end of a project, there comes a moment when everything finally comes together, and just works.

Project FOSSEKALL launches this week!

We recently completed an integration test with the fully assembled rocket on the launch rail, together with our remotely operated quick-disconnect filling system. Seeing all of these systems work together is a huge milestone as we prepare for launch.

At the time of posting, the rocket is on its way to Tarva for launch. We are still waiting to receive our launch windows, but weโ€™ll share updates as soon as theyโ€™re available.

Follow all launch updates at propulse.no/launch-updates (link in our bio), and be sure to bookmark the page, as it will also link our livestream when launch day arrives. ๐ŸŽฅ
