Q: Can you give a description of your role at Fuel Fighter?
A: I oversee the systems for making the car drive itself. This includes perception systems, software for path planning and physical integration in the car. I work on the link between the autonomous system and the actuators in the car. I assist the developers in autonomous when they are stuck on a problem and arrange meetings with mechanical and electrical.
Q: How manye hours do you usually work per week?
A: 15-20 hours a week
Q: What is your favorite part about your role?
A: When working in Fuel Fighter I get practical experience with the theory I learn in class. I get to familiarize myself with multiple aspects of the car and work with both software and hardware. I love how everyone in Fuel Fighter shares a passion for developoing something together and I feel like I can have a chat with anyone even if I don’t know them.
Q: What experience did you have before applying to this role?
A: Fields like computer engineering, electronic systems and cybernetics are perfect for autonomous. We work with everything from designing algorithms for obstacle avoidance, regulation of physical actuators and PCB design for interfaces.
