Orient Adventurer is entering a new phase as a cable-laying vessel, and Ulstein recently completed the inclining test to verify stability in the vessel’s new configuration.

Ulstein was awarded the redesign and engineering contract for the ULSTEIN SX121 vessel, where the inclining test represents one of the key deliverables. The work carried out highlights how deep insight into a vessel’s operational history is essential when transforming complex assets into safe, class‑approved solutions.

Three of our finest are heading to Miami to attend the Seatrade Cruise Global conference next week, from 13 to 16 April.

👩‍🔬 Recently, Ulstein’s new cable‑laying vessel design was put through large‑scale model testing at the SINTEF Ocean basin. By testing it in real waves, wind, and currents in a controlled environment, we can see how the design behaves long before anything is built.

On 18 March, Ulstein welcomed participants at the Sea The Future conference for a presentation at Ulstein's HQ and a guided tour of our yard facilities.

On Thursday, the conference continues in Fosnavåg, where Ulstein will contribute to the programme:
