After five years of dedicated effort and commitment, we have reached a significant milestone that signals strong progress toward the successful construction of the Jagdulla PRoR Hydroelectric Project (106 MW).
Today, the Contract Agreement was formally signed between Jagdulla Hydropower Company Limited and Jiangxi Construction Engineering (Group) Co., China, together with ANK Construction Company Pvt. Ltd., Nepal, operating under the Joint Venture name JCE–ANK JV (Contract Identification No.: JHCL/JHEP/ICB/081/82/EPC-01), for the construction of Lot No. 2 – Civil and Hydro-Mechanical Works of the project.
The contractual project duration is set at 54 months. Notably, the Joint Venture offered a bid price 9.6% lower than the estimated budget, representing a cost saving of approximately NPR 1.28 billion.
An Power Purchase Agreement was signed with the Nepal Electricity Authority, on last year, under the leadership of Nabil Bank, a loan agreement was concluded whereby HIDCL, Employees Provident Fund, Laxmi Sunrise Bank, and Everest Bank agreed to invest loans amounting to NPR 4.40 billion, NPR 4 billion, NPR 4 billion, NPR 2 billion, and NPR 1.50 billion respectively.
These projects are expected to make a significant contribution to promoting social and cultural harmony as well as fostering economic growth within the local communities. Furthermore, the construction of roads and bridges under the project will greatly enhance transportation connectivity, thereby facilitating the marketing and distribution of Dolpa’s abundant natural resources, including medicinal herbs, food grains, and fruits. In addition, the implementation of employment generation initiatives, corporate social responsibility programs, and other community-oriented activities will support the upliftment of living standards and overall socio-economic development in the region.
