Here are the standard mixes:
🧱 Common Cement Plaster Ratios
Internal walls (inside surface)
👉 1:6 (1 part cement : 6 parts sand)
– Smooth finish, enough strength for indoors
External walls (outside surface)
👉 1:4 or 1:5
– Stronger to resist weather
Ceiling plaster
👉 1:3
– Needs better bonding and strength to prevent falling
Bathroom / wet areas
👉 1:3
– More cement = more water resistance
Brickwork plaster (general purpose)
👉 1:5 or 1:6
⚠️ Quick Tips
Use clean, well-graded sand
Add water gradually to get workable paste (not too watery)
Typical thickness:
Internal: 12–15 mm
External: 15–20 mm
