There are moments in a journey that are difficult to put into words.
27 August 2026 was one of those moments.
After months of building, testing, failing, rebuilding, and refusing to give up, Garuda SR-1 left the ground. And we just launched the country’s first hybrid rocket.
Garuda SR-1 validated our hybrid propulsion architecture in flight, taking technology that we spent developing, testing, breaking, rebuilding, and refining in Kathmandu, and proving it beyond the test stand. Our focus on hybrid rocket propulsion is deliberate. For a country like Nepal, and for the emerging space markets we aim to serve, we believe propulsion technology must be not only capable, but practical, scalable, and cost-effective.
Hybrid propulsion offers a compelling path toward simpler, safer, and more affordable launch vehicle architectures, with the potential to reduce development and operational complexity while retaining the performance needed for small launch vehicles.
A special acknowledgement to NAST, Ministries, Nepali Army and all our collaborators whose support has been instrumental throughout this journey. This achievement would not have been possible without the people who stood behind the mission our team, partners, mentors, institutions, and everyone who believed in us.
