Hydro-Consult Engineering Limited (HCE) is the service-oriented company specialized in water resources based infrastructure development engineering solutions. The successful completion of challenging, complex and diverse projects, requiring truly comprehensive management capacity and interdisciplinary engineering know-how is core of HCE's Strength. It works with water, land and people while respecting the local socio-ecological systems. It has been carrying out consulting and engineering business of Butwal Power Company (BPC) since 1966. In 1986, BPC established BPC Hydroconsult as a firm of planners, engineer, environmentalists, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services. BPC Hydroconsult was structured as Engineering Department of BPC in 1991. In 2009, Engineering Department of BPC was established as an independent entity; Hydro Consult Private Limited (HCPL), by acquiring major shares in an existing firm that was being run by People Energy and Environment Development Association (PEEDA) since 1998. HCE was transformed into public limited on September 18, 2012 and is the first engineering consulting firm registered as public limited company in Nepal. Until FY 2077/78 BPC and PEEDA holds 80% and 20% of HCE shares respectively, but, now at present BPC holds 100% shares of HCE.

HCE team recently participated in a field visit for the finalization of the new intake under the Second Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Improvement Project (Melamchi).

The visit was attended by representatives from the International Consultants, National JV and Associate Consultants, ADB, and the client, the Melamchi Water Supply Development Board. The field assessment provided an important opportunity for all stakeholders to review site conditions, discuss technical aspects of the proposed intake, and coordinate the way forward for the successful implementation of the project.

HCE remains committed to delivering high-quality engineering solutions that contribute to the sustainable development of Nepal's water supply infrastructure.
