We are pleased to share the commencement of tunnel excavation (blasting) for the 𝟭𝟮𝟴 𝗠𝗪 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝘄𝗮 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁. The 𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 was held on 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟴𝟯.

Our team conducted a technical site visit for the 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝗶 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 (𝟮𝟰 𝗠𝗪) in Kaski District. The visit included inspections of the access road tunnel, headrace tunnel, powerhouse area, and other key construction sites to review the progress of ongoing works.

As the consultant providing Consulting Service for 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 , our team assessed construction progress, reviewed excavation works at the tunnel portals, observed ongoing site development activities, and coordinated with the project team to support quality construction and timely project implementation.

Our team recently conducted a site inspection of the 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗴𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 (𝟰𝟭.𝟯𝟭𝟰 𝗠𝗪) located in Lalitpur and Makwanpur districts of Bagmati Province. The Run-of-River project includes a 6.9 km long headrace tunnel and approximately 1 km of surface penstock pipeline.

As the Technical Consultant to the lead lender, Laxmi Sunrise Bank Limited, TAC Hydro Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. carried out project progress monitoring and technical bill verification. Our team assessed construction progress against the approved schedule while verifying the quantity, quality, workmanship, and compliance of executed works against the contractor’s submitted IPC bills.

The inspection confirmed ongoing excavation of the headrace tunnel from four working faces. Significant progress has also been achieved in the headworks area with completion of all flood protection walls and construction of two weir panels, while construction activities at the intake, gravel trap, desander, and undersluice structures continue steadily.

Globally, women make up only around 28% of the STEM workforce, while in Nepal, women engineers represent only a 12–13% of registered engineers in the Nepal Engineering Council. Despite these challenges, their contribution and impact continue to grow every year through determination, innovation, and leadership.

From infrastructure and hydropower to technology, transportation, and development projects, women engineers are building systems & structures, breaking barriers and inspiring future generations to dream bigger.

Our team recently conducted a site inspection of the 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗺-𝟭 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 (𝟭𝟯.𝟰𝟮𝟰 𝗠𝗪) in Lamjung District, Gandaki Province. The run-of-river project utilizes a 347 m gross head and is progressing steadily across its major civil and hydromechanical components.

As the Technical Consultant to the lead lender, Laxmi Sunrise Bank Limited, TAC Hydro Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. carried out project progress monitoring and technical bill vetting. Our team assessed construction progress against the approved schedule while verifying the quantity, quality, workmanship, and compliance of executed works against the contractor’s submitted IPC bills.

The inspection confirmed completion of the downstream weir, major portions of the flood wall, intake and gravel trap excavation works, and raft concrete works. Pipeline excavation, laying, and er****on activities are ongoing, with portion of pipe er****on completed, while at the powerhouse, machine foundation works have been completed and reinforcement works for the shear wall are currently in progress.

As the Technical Consultant to the lead lender, Nepal Infrastructure Bank Ltd. (NIFRA), TAC Hydro Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. carried out project progress monitoring and technical bill verification. Our team assessed construction progress against the approved schedule and verified the quantity, quality, and compliance of completed works against the contractor’s submitted IPC bills.

The inspection confirmed substantial advancement in key project components, including the headworks, tunnels, underground powerhouse complex, and ongoing electromechanical installations. The assessment provided lenders with an independent technical evaluation to support effective project monitoring and informed decision-making as the project moves closer to completion.
