🌲Throwback to a legend on the levers💪

Here's ole mate Les a few moons ago, one of our retired but never forgotten operators, doing what he did best, making a big excavator dance like it was an extension of his own arm. Exceptional doesn’t even cover it. The skill, the precision, the quiet confidence and it still runs deep in our veins. While Les now enjoys a well-earned retirement, the same standard of planning and workmanship is alive and kicking in the Ashburton Contracting Rural team right now, especially as we head into the heart of winter.

Winter on the farm is the perfect time to get ahead:

👏Big shoutout to the legend Jock Cockburn

Just wrapped up his Level 2 in Mining & Quarrying with MITO New Zealand and absolutely smashed it!

You knocked out around 90 units in five months and finished a couple of months early, what a legend!

From isolating health & safety, running toolbox meetings, formal comms, hazard ID forms, machine & equipment safety checks, isolation procedures, right through to writing up our safe work practices and setting up a complete quarry site with subcontractors… You covered the lot. 🥵

In depth stuff on surface extraction, risk assessments, and the whole Health & Safety Act.

Jock's loving the quarrying game and already has his eye on Level 3, then all the way through to Level 5. Diploma 🎓

Looking forward to seeing you mentoring the crews and taking the Ashburton Contracting quarry to the next level.

🚀Another qualification added to the Ashburton Contracting team.

Big congratulations to William, who has just completed his NZ Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering (Road Transport) - Level 4.🚛
Not only did he finish the qualification, but he smashed it out in just 4 years instead of the usual 5, and a little bird tells us you reckon you could have done it 3 💪

This is exactly what makes our workshop run so well, talented people with the skills and drive to back it up. Well done, Willie! The team is proud mate 👍

Walking for 12 hours is no joke..... but it's nothing compared to the strength it takes to fight cancer every single day 💪❤️

Today is the big one the Cancer Society Mid Canterbury Relay For Life is happening TODAY at the Ashburton A&P Showgrounds!

Our ACL Water Tanker is on site keeping everyone hydrated so the teams can keep going strong. Supporting the supporters is what community is all about and being able to help out feels like a real privilege.

We’re hoping today is an amazing, uplifting day that raises heaps of much needed funds to make a genuine difference for local families facing cancer.

If you’re nearby, come on down! Bring the family, cheer on the teams, soak up the atmosphere and the first drink (actually, every drink!) is on us Ashburton Contracting 😄💧
