Atiamuri Sand and Pumice

Atiamuri Sand and Pumice Our quarry is located 30km's south of Tokoroa just off SH1. Our quarry supplies washed, screened and separated sands, pumices and Race Rock.

This unique area is typified for the exceptional pumice resource which is both lighter and stronger than the wind blown pumices located further away from the Taupo volcanic area. These products are used throughout NZ and exported around the Pacific region. Our Race Rock is light, strong and crushes and settles into a long wearing surface. It is offers a truly non-slip alternative to traditional clay, lime and "rotten rock" options.

It is with very deep sadness that we report that Ross Sutherland has passed away. Roscoe was a highly valued INPRO team member for over twenty years, joining the business in September 2001. With his colleagues, he operated the Atiamuri and Cashmore’s quarries until he retired earlier this year. A celebration of Ross’s life will be held at the Mangakino Club at midday, Saturday 18th June. He will always be remembered for his clever wit and wonderful sense of humour.
