There's nothing more satisfying as a builder than seeing a project come full circle, just the way you imagined 👌
What we're proud of:
- The original plans had the pool at the lowest point of the site with stairs down. We suggested raising it to align with the house floor level — a game-changer for usability, flow, and overall design.
- We suggested a custom recessed pool cover with an aluminium lid that sits perfectly flush with the decking — clean lines, no trip hazards, and no visual clutter.
- The pool floor was carefully shaped so it doesn’t drop away too quickly, making it safer and more enjoyable when young kids are in the water.
- We relocated the pump shed so it’s completely tucked away, not an eyesore, quieter, and in a spot that made drainage simpler and more cost-effective.
- A French drain system now runs around the property, stopping stormwater from neighbouring sites that used to flood the garden and make it unusable in winter.
The challenges:
- Building through spring to hit a summer (Christmas) deadline — with plenty of rain along the way.
- Original architectural plans didn’t allow for the required retaining walls.
- Coordinating boundary fencing with four different neighbours and keeping everyone happy.
Projects like this are a reminder that good builds aren’t just about following plans — they’re about problem-solving, experience, and thinking ahead 👍
