Earlier this week we welcomed the Fletcher Building’s The Equality Network Women’s Mentoring Programme cohort to our Humes Papakura factory — an energising moment for our team and a powerful reminder of why representation matters.

The group had the chance to get up close with our concrete pipe and precast manufacturing operations, ask questions and see firsthand the scale and impact of what we build every day. The feedback was incredibly positive and we’re grateful for the opportunity to showcase the work our people do.

The Equality Network is a 12-month programme accelerating women’s careers and strengthening female leadership across Fletcher Building. The Equality Network plays a key role in creating an inclusive workplace and ensuring women have access to development pathways, industry networks and practical support.

Humes is proud to support initiatives that lift capability, open doors and build the next generation of leaders in our industry!

Another successful CPAA Concrete Pipe Installation Training session delivered by Amanda Choi, this time with Beca Engineering & Consulting Services.

We had 38 attendees ranging from graduate engineers through to senior civil engineers and designers, all gaining practical knowledge and confidence in specifying and installing concrete pipeline systems.

At Humes, we're proud to offer Free CPAA-certified training throughout New Zealand. These hands-on sessions are designed for engineers, designers, contractors, and asset managers, providing practical insights that support better project outcomes.

Great turnout at Tuesday’s CPAA Concrete Pipe Installation Programme at the Fletcher Building Campus in Penrose.

Led by Amanda Choi, the session brought together industry professionals for a hands-on look at best practice concrete pipe installation, from planning and trench preparation through to bedding, compaction, and defect assessment.

It was a valuable morning of practical learning, knowledge sharing, and capability building across the sector. Thanks to everyone who joined us and contributed to a fantastic session.
