Summer is almost here and the game fish won't be far off either.

Time to get your reels serviced and respooled before the season really kicks off.

This is the Tiagra 80w which had deformed pins retaining the main shaft.
I eventually managed to remove 1 pin and was then able to extract the entire shaft.
New shaft and pins installed along with a couple of bearings, it's now back in the game..

Fortunately I've seen this before so have new replacement parts in stock.

Tiagra 80w..
Here's something you don't see every day.
This reel was involved in an epic battle with a xos Blue which unfortunately died during the fight.
In an effort to raise it, the reel was set to sunset which has resulted in the retaining pins either end of the main shaft being bent to the point they won't come out of the shaft and to add insult to injury the holes in the shaft have elongated meaning both pins and the shaft have to replaced.

Doesn't take much but can improve the performance of your blade considerably.

5 minutes in the ultrasonic and the parts are spotless.
Lubed all the parts with CorrosionX grease thinned down a bit with a couple of drops of ReelX.
The only additional work was to polish the inner sleeves and reassemble.

My Shimano Tiagra Ultra 30/50
This is possibly the most overlooked components in game fishing. Your rods roller guides.
I have personally seen first hand multiple rods where none of the rollers in the guides would move, frozen solid with corrosion.
I have no doubt that this one small oversight has cost many fishos over the years..
I will disassemble one guides at a time, starting with the st****er guide.
Just a cautionary note to take a bit of care when disassembling to keep track of where all the different parts go. Easiest way i find is lay the parts out in an order that shows me each parts orientation.
