🌀🌧🌬Severe Weather Update🌀🌧🌬
(10:15am Monday 13th February)
Cyclone Gabrielle currently lies around 290 km north of Great Barrier Island, and is moving slowly southeast. Cyclone Gabrielle is expected to recurve southwards and move close to Great Barrier Island and Coromandel Peninsula tonight, then track east-southeast and pass just to the north of East Cape during Tuesday evening.

Impacts are already being felt across northern parts of the North Island, and are expected to spread south across the rest of the North Island through to northern parts of the South Island today and Tuesday.

Red Warnings for Heavy Rain remain in force for Northland, Auckland, the Coromandel Peninsula and Gisborne north of Tolaga Bay.

Red Warnings for severe gales remain in force for Northland, Auckland and the Coromandel Peninsula, and now includes Taranaki.
