🔩 Back to the Real World – Whenuapai Site Fabrication 🏗️😎

For those of you paying attention, this one is a long way from the pretty, architectural canopy in our last post.

This is a grunty site fabrication renovation right in the heart of Whenuapai.

We're back amongst the real world with:

🏗️ Scaffolding
🏠 Building wrap
🌧️ Mud
📐 Material lifters
🔩 Steel beams everywhere
😄 And a steel fabricator who's noticeably less shy than usual

You'll also spot some old roofing iron doing its bit to protect the grass from fire and swarf. Not glamorous, but practical. We like practical.

This is the stuff that doesn't always make the glossy magazines, but it's the bread and butter of what we do. Tight spaces, changing conditions, problem solving, and a whole lot of steel.

Honestly, it's our favourite paddock to play in.

😍 Point Chevalier – Too Good Looking for the Internet? 🔩✨

We're genuinely concerned this one might get banned from social media for its... you know what appeal. 😅

This canopy and screen project in Point Chevalier is an absolute stunner.

Before it became the good-looking showpiece you see here, there was a robust design and CAD phase, followed by a meticulous fabrication process and a carefully considered surface protection system to make sure it looked as good in real life as it did on the drawings.

And the result?

Let's just say this thing is the Sydney Sweeney / Brad Pitt of canopies.

Elegant.
Strong.
Timeless.
And frankly, making the rest of us look a bit ordinary.

Projects like this are a reminder that steel doesn't just solve structural problems — sometimes it becomes the feature itself.

We're incredibly proud to have been part of bringing this beauty to life.

🌊 Bayswater Waterfront – Steel Nerds, This One's For You 🔩🚚

A CAD drawn masterpiece taking shape on the waterfront in Bayswater, with the installation handled by the legends at and their trusty hiab. As always, smooth, professional, and right on the money.

If you're a steel nerd, you'll be zooming in on the details:
🔩 The different types of surface protection
🔩 The stubs sitting beneath that decent-sized portal frame
🔩 All the little details that make a project like this come together properly

If you're a normal person, you'll probably notice the pretty trees, the waterfront views, and a particularly talented — yet remarkably camera-shy — steel fabricator trying his best to avoid becoming a social media star. 😄

Beautiful location, beautiful steel, and another project we're proud to be part of.

🎬 Lights, Camera, Steel! 🔩🏖️🚁

We've got a video this time. I know, cool right? We've finally made it into the '90s. 😎

This one showcases a marquee build on a black sand beach in West Auckland, complete with:

🎞️ And what I can only assume is every scene transition effect known to mankind

Honestly, it's got more production value than some movies we've seen lately. I'm looking at you "Mandalorian & Grogu".....

The project itself isn't too shabby either — a stunning location, a marquee structure taking shape against the rugged West Auckland coastline, and some seriously tidy steelwork helping bring it all together.

A huge shoutout to Sullivan Hall for the engineering and Herbst Architects for the design. You guys continue to produce projects that are as interesting as they are beautiful.

Now if you'll excuse us, we'll be waiting for our call from Hollywood. 🎥😄

🔩 Coatesville Renovation – Special from the Start 🏗️🌿

We’re back out in Coatesville renovating again, and sometimes you arrive on site, see the driveway, and just know you’re involved in something special.

These shots show Bevan and Ty installing a galvanised pitched portal frame as part of an addition to the house — tidy steel, great setting, and a seriously good-looking project coming together.

It was a busy day on site, but the lads got there in the end. Just another example of good planning, good teamwork, and cracking on until the job’s done. 💪

🔩 Greenhithe Reno – Back at It Again 🏗️😄

Man… I reckon we’ve done more jobs in Greenhithe than almost anywhere else.

This renovation has all the classics:
🏠 Building wrap everywhere
🛠️ A sharp little setup for the lads on site
📸 And 3rd year apprentice Bailey looking absolutely (not) stoked to be on camera.

Trust me — when he’s not being photographed, he’s awesome. 😅

☀️ Karaka Build – Steel in the Golden Light 🔩🏗️

A new build underway in Karaka, and what an absolute beauty this one is.

These photos capture the whole process nicely — from delivery through to installation, with the lads safely working away from the mobile scaffolding and getting the steel exactly where it needs to be.

And that light…
Beautiful late-afternoon sun sitting low in the sky, showing the project off in all its glory. Hard to beat days like this. 😎

🔩 Meadowbank Build – Grey Steel Done Right 🏗️😎

A new build underway in Meadowbank, packed full of lovely grey steel beams — just the way we like it.

All steel has been painted to IZS4 by our good friends at Metspray, then handed over to our trusty team of legends to install. Solid prep, solid finish, solid result.

These are the kind of volume jobs we love — repeatable, efficient, and satisfying to see come together piece by piece.

🔩 Pt England Portal Frames – For the Steel Beam Addicts 🏗️😄

A few shots here from a new build in Pt England, showing off these tidy spliced portal frames doing their thing.

Don’t worry — there’s more excitement to come upstairs and once the bracing goes in… but this should keep the steel beam addicts out there satisfied for a couple of days.

I’m doing my best to keep you all happy. 😉

🌊 Piha Steel – CAD, Coastlines & Aerial Views 🔩🚁

We’re back in Piha on this beast of a CAD-driven project, right by the water — and it’s got a bit of everything.

Fully galvanised steel to handle the coastal environment, some seriously tidy detailing, and a few features worth a second look…

👀 Hollow CHS posts doubling as downpipes for internal gutters
🎥 Our Project Manager back in his pilot’s cap, flying the drone and capturing some epic angles
🏗️ And steel going in exactly where it should, as always
