This week in the workshop 🔧

We’ve been working behind the scenes on a very exciting project, seeing the project come to life from a CAD drawing will never get old. More on this soon, but for now here are a few of the details:

1. Extending the trailer drawbar
2. Drawbar fully extended
3. Drawbar fully retracted
4. Trailer chassis
5. Hydraulic Ram with built in power pack
6. Coil-over suspension to lower the trailer body.

It's been a while, for all the new faces, here's a quick intro 👋🏼

Gidday, I'm Darryl, the guy behind Oakden.

I’m an Engineer, but not your average one. I have a knack for finding problems you didn’t know you had, and taking ideas up a notch to deliver the perfect engineering solution.

I moved back to NZ in 2021 to work on Oakden full time and have since completed some epic custom projects ranging from superyachts to foodtrucks and automotive accessories.

I'm keen to take you on the journey with me and show you behind the scenes from planning to completion so you can see how projects come to life.

Very pleased to get this custom job out the door for Brooklyn Dogs.
We completely gutted and fitted out this truck with all the bells and whistles. Some of the features include:

- Motorised door stays for easy opening and closing
- Large LCD screen for promo and menu display
- All red aluminum panels (custom)
- Underbody lockers (custom)
- Waterproof interior cabinetry (custom)
- Overhead extraction fan (custom)
- Solar panels

We love working with clients to bring their ideas to life! Make sure you go and try a hotdog from Denny and the team. You can’t miss it, it’ll be the brightest, shiniest lil red truck at every event!

Quick turnaround for a super yacht needing CNC machined parts pronto.

The 2205 stainless and bronze sailing hardware parts were made easy thanks to our in-house machine centre and CNC lathe - achieving 0.04mm with ease.

Our customer was after a specific set of light mounts that they couldn’t find anywhere on the market. They came to us and we designed and 3D printed these beauties

To make it waterproof, we incorporated o-ring grooves into the base to seat an o-ring seal. This allows a tight seal without the use of messy sealants or clean up. Bolted from outside the cab in factory threaded holes, these mounts can be installed quickly without the need of special tools.
