So Adele, Evan and I from Laser Electrical Silverdale and Laser Electrical Warkworth, have just returned from joining most of the other Laser business owners from around NZ, at our annual conference, held in Chrischurch.
It was the 25th Conference for the Laser brand in NZ.
Held in the Te Pae Convention Centre.
The MC was Jeremy Corbett and he kept us well entertained, leading us through three informative days with great speakers including, Zion Armstrong (kiwi born President of Adidas Corporation), Raelene Castle and workshops Greg Nathan, Laser suppliers and Laser Group Managers.
As usual, the day before the conference is spent helping out the local community. This year was a little different. We were bused out to the Avon Heathcote estuary, an ecologically important coastal wetland site and home for migratory birds including the endangered Godwits, that fly between this wetland and Alaska. And after a tour of the area, we were put to work, working with DOC staff, planting hundreds of young plants and cutting out hundreds of damaging Lupins.
The following three days were then spent mixing and learning with other business owners. Presentations and competitions from our suppliers, who set up displays in the trade hall in the convention centre. The conference finished with a Gala dinner and annual prizegiving and awards night, celebrating the successes across the network.
We were happy that Laser Electrical Silverdale was recognised as a finalist for the Customer Service Excellence Award, so one of the top three businesses nominated for this award. Eventually won by our friends at Laser Electrical Whangarei.
A great conference, great catching up with other Laser business owners and really well organised by the team at Laser Group.
