What a way to wrap up a massive year! We’ve officially capped off a long and successful season with the completion of the Red Stag Rotorua Marathon.

While the runners were psyching themselves up for the starting cannon, our crew was already out in force. Covering 42km of State Highway with precise TTM (Temporary Traffic Management) is no small feat. With four different race distances running simultaneously, the planning had to be spot on.

We’re stoked to say our event team is leading the pack by using the latest technology to map out every detail and track our performance in real-time. It’s this tech-forward approach that keeps things seamless and safe for everyone on the course.

A massive shout-out and congratulations to all the staff who put in the hard yards to make this event such a hit. We couldn’t have done it without you! 🏁🙌

March proved to be a milestone month for I-Traffic, as the team successfully delivered a record 64 events across the North Island. This achievement highlights the company’s operational scale and its ability to provide specialized traffic and event management solutions across diverse sectors.

Regional Highlights and Diverse Operations
The month’s portfolio demonstrated significant geographical and logistical range:

- Corporate & Trade: In Auckland, the team managed complex parking logistics for the Bunnings Trade Expo, ensuring seamless access for industry partners.

- Entertainment: Large-scale music concerts in both Hamilton and Auckland required precision crowd and traffic control to accommodate high-capacity audiences.

- Athletics: I-Traffic supported the regional sporting community by securing routes for several half-marathons and the challenging Ring of Fire Trail Run in Ohakune.

- Community Engagement: The company maintained a visible presence at the iconic Balloons over Waikato, providing essential support for the I-Traffic branded balloon.

Elite Stadium Partnerships
In addition to standalone events, I-Traffic continued its essential collaboration with New Zealand’s premier venues. The team provided consistent traffic management for Super Rugby fixtures and international football matches featuring the All Whites at both Eden Park in Auckland and FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton.

This record-setting month underscores I-Traffic’s commitment to safety and efficiency. By successfully navigating the complexities of 64 distinct operations, the firm has reaffirmed its position as a leading partner in New Zealand’s event infrastructure landscape.

February has been a relentless, high-octane month for our events team, marked by a kaleidoscope of sights and sounds across the country. From the rhythmic whir of spokes at the National Elite Cycling in Cambridge to the stirring pipes and drums of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo at Eden Park, our crews have been the silent backbone of New Zealand’s biggest spectacles.

The momentum didn’t stop there. We hit the pavement for a series of grueling half marathons and supported the vibrant energy of Round the Bays in both Wellington and Christchurch. To round off this month, we are honored to be partnered with the Auckland Council, providing essential Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) to ensure the Auckland Lantern Festival glows safely for every visitor.

This flurry of activity is merely the prelude. We are now charging into March—our busiest month on record—prepared to tackle four consecutive weeks of major events. As you head out to enjoy the festivities, remember to wave to our staff in high-vis. They are working around the clock with one goal in mind: keeping you safe.

This weekend our national Event manager Colin Clifton was leading the charge at the National Elite Cycling Championship! It's clear he's deeply passionate about both the sport and making events run smoothly – developing the progressive road closure system 8 years ago shows his commitment to innovation and safety in cycling. Working alongside Cycling NZ, Dynamo Events, and Te Awamutu Sports Cycling Club must have made for a strong collaborative effort to deliver a great championship in Cambridge.

Sorry TA sports Cycling, we can't seem to locate you. But you ran an excellent event

Our events business - lead by Colin Clifton, has gone from strength to strength over the last few years. It's required a cultural and operational shift in the way we do things, but it's been an exciting journey. Colin and his team look after some of New Zealand's most iconic events and Stadiums, incuding Eden Park, New Zealand, Round The Bays, HS Group NZ and multiple major cycling events across the motu. Here is a short snippet of Colin and our CEO, Eugene's chat about events and the important role they play in our business.

One of the biggest changes in our industry is the move from a prescribed code of practice to a risk-based guide.

It’s not just about following a checklist anymore it’s about understanding risk, thinking critically, and choosing the safest approach for every situation on site.
That mindset shift is what really matters. 🚧

2026 is here, and it’s shaping up to be a big year.
Delivering quality work starts with doing the basics right and operating as a compliant organisation.
What we do matters, but how we do it matters just as much.
