PIGC7 is just a week away now

JRG Energy’s Kennard Maturgo and Callum Streeter will be joining the geothermal community in the Philippines for a week of technical exchange, collaboration and conversation.

Ken will be presenting across two sessions:

1 September | PH–NZ Pre-Conference Technical Workshop
AI-assisted Workflows for Efficient Geothermal Monitoring and Decision-Making

3 September | PIGC7 Technical Conference
Together with Maibarara Geothermal Inc. (MGI), Ken will co-present From Decision to Ex*****on: Applying the Intervention Decision-Making Tool (i-DMT) for Successful Bullhead Acidizing of a Production Well at Maibarara Geothermal Field, Philippines.

To round out the week, Ken and Callum will be heading into the field on 4 September, visiting Maibarara and MakBan respectively.

The WING Canada Battle of the Bands event during the World Geothermal Congress 2026 in Calgary was a fabulous evening bringing together colleagues, partners, and friends from across the geothermal industry to celebrate not only the growth of geothermal worldwide, but also the importance of building a more inclusive and connected industry.

Events like these highlight the strength of the geothermal community and the incredible people driving innovation, collaboration, and positive change across the sector. Thank you to everyone who joined and helped make the night such a success.

JRG Energy was proud to play an active role at the World Geothermal Congress 2026.

On the final day of the Congress, Martin Pujol of JRG Energy joined the panel discussion organised by PTRC Sustainable Energy, “Opportunities and Challenges for Urban Geothermal Development,” hosted by Erik Nickel. Fellow panelists included Dr. Phil Vardon of Delft University of Technology, Nora Heijnen of EBN Netherlands, Steven Bolton of Rockwater, and Martin Pujol representing JRG Energy.

The event provided an outstanding opportunity to connect with industry leaders, share insights, and showcase JRG Energy’s expertise on the global geothermal stage.

It was a fantastic week filled with meaningful discussions, valuable new connections, and continued collaboration across the international geothermal community.

A sincere thank you to the International Geothermal Association for organising this exceptional event and bringing the global geothermal industry together once again.

A new look for a new chapter at JRG Energy.

We’re excited to introduce the refreshed JRG Energy logo mark - an evolution of our brand that reflects who we are today and where we’re heading next.

As our work continues to grow across global geothermal projects, we wanted a visual identity that better represents our approach: modern, confident, agile, and grounded in deep geothermal expertise.

While our look is evolving, our commitment remains the same - supporting geothermal development with trusted expertise, technical clarity, and practical delivery.

We look forward to sharing more over the coming weeks and unveiling the new brand at World Geothermal Congress 2026 in Calgary this month.

JRG Energy was proud to support on-site geothermal capacity building activities in Bandung, Indonesia from April 6–10 under the programme.

Our team led the planning, coordination, and delivery management of the programme, while the technical courses were delivered by our valued partner .

We were also pleased to work alongside Indonesian geothermal consultancy , whose support in workshop facilitation and Bahasa translation helped ensure the technical content and key learnings were fully accessible to all participants.

Strong collaboration like this is key to advancing geothermal knowledge and development across the region supporting future growth of the industry in Asia-Pacific.

To finish an inspiring week in Bandung, Kennard Maturgo also had the opportunity to experience the city’s famous Rainbow Village - a vibrant reminder of the culture, creativity, and community that make Indonesia such a special place to work.

The Taiwan International Geothermal Conference in Taipei brought together government, industry, investors, and technical experts - all focused on accelerating geothermal development.

Taiwan faces unique energy challenges, but its geothermal potential is significant and could become a cornerstone of its future energy mix.

JRG Energy was proud to be part of the conversation. Our General Manager, Callum Streeter, presented as part of the NZTE keynote and geothermal workshop, while also visiting a range of geothermal sites across Taiwan.

It’s encouraging to see the momentum building - and the growing collaboration needed to turn potential into long-term energy solutions. With both Conventional and Enhanced Geothermal Systems a clear focus in Taiwan, JRG Energy is well placed to support development across both pathways.

JRG Energy successfully completed a country-wide geothermal resource assessment for Azerbaijan in 2025.

Delivered in partnership with the World Bank and the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency (AREA), the project combined rigorous technical analysis with collaborative engagement to support the country’s growing geothermal sector and inform future development strategies.

Beyond the technical achievements, the project offered our team an exceptional cultural experience - from the breathtaking Bibi-Heybat Mosque to visiting the world’s first industrially drilled oil well to sampling local cuisine and engaging with welcoming communities. These experiences underscored the value of working closely with local stakeholders while delivering impactful, sustainable geothermal solutions.

A memorable project for JRG Energy and a meaningful contribution to the advancement of geothermal energy in Azerbaijan.
