Did you know - most builders will put your job out to tender when they win the contract.

This is followed by them choosing the lowest quote for your work and going with it regardless of the quality.

Part of this is bringing work in house when it makes sense. Recently this is painting.

This job challenged us in the best way. What better way to learn the council system in side and out than to have a job that was consented in 2011, ammended in 2020, built incorrectly and changed from those plans with no inspections then land in our lap to sort with the previous builder being uncontactable. We created a minor variation to make this scope work within the bounds of the client's budget and sailed through every subsequent building inspection.

It's easy to get bogged down in attempting to make everything perfect, but this isn't always practical. People need a house that's going to perform whilst being cost effective and having resale value. We cater our approach to what you need, not what we want.

Bluetooth posts! Almost everything on this went about as wrong as it could regarding work completed by the previous builder. Lucky we're adaptable!
Even with all of this the clients are still our friends. That's the Coldicutt Blackman difference!

A little bit cheeky but the budget on this job was tight, bringing in the reclad team would cost us time and money that the client's didn't have!
Nice to have the modern performance of a wall of cavity to keep this home warm and dry for our amazing customers!

As part of a renovation we're not only looking to build our extension to a high standard, we're also assessing and repairing the main structure of the house. This way when our client moves into their new home they have the assurance that their home is going to last often longer than them.

A massive extension drawn on consent documents and stamped by the previous owner. Work is almost completed on half the extension.

We're contracted in to finish, only to find out that none of the work was completed to the building consent plans or the structural/ weather tightness rules that govern us builders.
