Site Update - Progress Taking Shape at McKinnon Crescent, Otangarei site.

There’s been plenty happening on site, with civil construction now nearing completion and the project preparing to move into its next major phase.

Major drainage network installation and upgrades are underway, services are installed, and preparation is progressing for the hardscaped JOAL and carpark surfaces.

Apartment A is moving ahead with foundations and the slab poured, while the concrete tilt panels are being manufactured and are scheduled for delivery and installation in early September.

Apartment B is also progressing through foundations and slabs, with its tilt panels expected on site for installation in mid-September.

Looking ahead, work will soon begin on the foundations for both terrace blocks as the project continues into vertical construction.

As the build progresses, we’re also looking forward to creating further opportunities to engage with local and Māori-owned businesses.

There’s plenty happening on site at Bisset Road, with great progress being made across both Stage 1 and Stage 2.
Stage 1 is well underway, with all foundation slabs now poured and framing in progress. Our carpentry teams are busy preparing for roofing and cladding, with bricklaying also set to begin over the coming weeks. Plumbing and electrical works are now underway as the first trades move through the homes.
Stage 2 is also progressing well, with foundations currently being prepared and pours planned over the next few weeks. Carpentry teams are expected to move into framing in early September.
A highlight for the project has been our latest reporting, which showed 100% local trades engaged across the site. We’re proud to be supporting the local community and look forward to continuing to work alongside local trades as the development progresses.

🏆 Gold for Taylor Construction!

We’re incredibly proud to share that our recent Auckland project has received a Gold Award and won the Regional Category in the $1.5 - $2 million category at the 2026 Master Builders House of the Year Awards for Auckland, Northland and Coromandel.

This recognition now sees the project progress to the National Awards, where it will compete alongside regional winners from across New Zealand.

And there could be more to celebrate. Later this month, we’ll find out whether the project has also earned a place among the Top 100 homes in New Zealand for 2026.

A huge congratulations and thank you to our team, clients and everyone who helped bring this home to life. Recognition like this is a reflection of the craftsmanship, collaboration and attention to detail that goes into every stage of the build.

Every great build starts with great people.

Meet Aaron, our Senior Site Manager, who has dedicated 30 years to the construction industry. One of the things he enjoys most is taking a moment to stand back and see everything the team has accomplished together.

Aaron thrives on the challenge that each project brings, always looking for smarter, more efficient ways to solve problems and deliver the best outcome for our clients and communities.

When he's away from site, you'll usually find him enjoying a scenic drive with his wife, stopping along the way for a good meal. And here's a fun fact, you might be surprised to learn that Aaron's very first job was as a swimming coach! 🏊

At Taylor Construction, it's the people behind the projects who make the difference, and we're proud to have experienced team members like Aaron leading the way.

What a day for Kaikohe! 👏🏽

More than 160 people came through the doors at our Bisset Rd Development Open Day, and the energy from the community was incredible.

As we shared our plans for 91 new homes, it was inspiring to see 83 locals register their interest in employment opportunities, alongside so many local subcontractors and suppliers eager to be part of the project.

This development is about more than building houses. It's about creating local jobs, investing in skills, and building a stronger future alongside the Kaikohe community.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, asked questions, and shared in the vision. We're excited to bring this project to life together.

A new chapter is taking shape in Kaikohe.

We're proud to be delivering the Bisset Road Development alongside our project partners, bringing 100 new homes to the Far North over three construction stages.
