Why are Aotearoa's native lizards so susceptible to introduced predators?
One of the big reasons is that our lizards evolved around predators (birds, tuatara, and other lizards) that use sight to hunt. They rely on their camouflage when they are threatened, which doesn't work as well against introduced predators that rely on smell for hunting. 📷 credit: Hong Yao Lim
