Christchurch Ready-Mix Concrete Limited announces sale to HW Richardson Group Limited (HWR)

The Grant family wish to announce the sale of its shares (100%) in Christchurch Ready-Mix Concrete Limited (CRMC) to HW Richardson Group Limited (HWR), a family-owned business originating and headquartered in Southland, New Zealand.

The Grant family have owned and operated CRMC for over 60 years. CRMC was born out of Transport North Canterbury which began in the 1930s. The Grant family, who have grown the business over several decades, believe that now is the right time for a change in shareholder control. This sale will ensure the continued growth and success of CRMC.

This share sale will be finalised close of business 11 April 2025.
As this is a share sale, all aspects of the current business operations remain in place. All employees remain in place and unaffected by the sale. The Christchurch Ready-Mix Concrete trading name and brand also remains in place.

HW Richardson Group Limited has a diverse portfolio, including interests in transport, concrete, energy, quarrying and contracting in New Zealand and Australia. HWR is known for its commitment to community values, sustainability, and long-term growth.

A early morning start for Phil on the Cifa 47 at the Christchurch hospital helping out Marty’s pumps for a job with Naylor Love, he said it’s the first time he’s had to set his alarm to wake up for work twice in one day.
