There’s something special about giving back to the community you call home.
Over the past little while, we’ve been grateful to play a small part in helping bring the new shaded seating area at Te Whanau Hou / Grovetown Lagoon to life. From the initial discussions, to standing the poles, through to the lads building the seats — this project has been a real community effort from many great people and local businesses.
As a business, we never want to lose sight of how blessed we are to be in a position where we can volunteer our time and skills to projects like this. Stewardship, giving back, and serving others are values that matter deeply to us — and qualities we hope our kids grow up to mirror too.
One day our children will walk past this space with their own families and know their parents had a hand in helping create it. We’re pretty proud of that.
Huge credit to everyone involved in making this happen:
• Smart Alliances Limited
• Simcox Construction
• Eckford Engineering
• Royal New Zealand Air Force officer cadets
• Marlborough District Council
• Volunteers and community members behind the scenes
Projects like this are a reminder that when local people come together, good things happen.
Next time you’re out at the lagoon, stop in, take a seat, and enjoy the view 🌿
