One of the realities of recladding work is that the real condition of a building often isn’t visible until cladding is removed.

On a recent job, once the cladding came off, we found framing that didn’t meet current code requirements. This must be addressed before proceeding, it’s a non-negotiable part of doing the job correctly and compliantly. This is why it pays to talk to an LBP before starting a reclad or renovation.

As an LBP, it’s our responsibility to identify these issues, advise clients clearly, and ensure the structure is right before moving forward. It protects the home, the client, and the long-term value of the build.
