Geo builders family home up in castle hill. Proof that we stand by our work.

Good “strong bones”. Steel portals to support the front of the house and a Rigid air barrier (the plywood underneath the cladding) around the entire house. This is now mandatory in high wind zones with the recent building code changes but was common practice for us. A variety of cladding types from LMA Timbers recycled hardwood to ecoply around the back. It is quite a piece of inland New Zealand architecture designed by Krush architecture.

This product has a serious wow factor! A mixture Australian hardwoods from Spotted gum through to Iron bark. All recycled giving a guilt free wow to the product.

Managing to keep a good flow of work during this period of material shortages in the country. Marina from was able to sort us out for the fascia. James from has communicated well so we know what to pre-order and what we can rely on.

The architect has a done a delightful job here in matching the house in with the environment. The shape of the roofline should blend in nicely with the mountainous back drop.

Next photo drop of this site will show the house all clad with LMA timber and shadowclad. A locally sourced sustainable cladding and a fully recycled Australian product.

One of our clients had their cladding charred before we installed it. Very interesting concept where by charring the exterior layer of timber it forms a dense much more UV resistant layer that preserves the rest of the weather board. The idea is that this weather board will last significantly longer. Anytime we increase the lifespan of a product without the use of harsh chemicals we decrease our environmental impact of building. Always should be considered when building.

Wow! Three impressive job sites up in the castle hill village after a bit of snowfall. Really good to see jobs at different stages. Allows for better efficiencies when it comes to transport of materials, contractors and even accommodation.

Really appreciate to be working with the pros on this job. Alex and Andy from Engco have been a solid team dealing with engineering difficulties efficiently and with practicality in mind. Greg Mathias and Murray from Mathias excavation have always made themselves available and have done excellent work. Hayden Stanley and his team of blockies absolutely killing it on building of the walls. And to take it home Bodie and Chris from Base Construction to take us home with the pad next week.
