When COVID hit mid-build, we didn't stop — we adapted.

Timber shortages meant no prefabrication. So we hand-crafted every frame ourselves. GIB was bought during lockdown and carefully rotated in storage every few weeks so nothing warped. Materials were sourced from around the world.

The Arrowtown Lifestyle Retirement Village Lodge is JMI's largest project to date — and one of Queenstown's biggest developments. We managed every detail in-house, from quantity surveying to subcontracting, keeping every villa and the main lodge on schedule without compromising quality.

From old lodge to grand home — meet 7 Homeward Bound, Arrowtown.

When the Speight family came to us with a vision, we had four months, a full gut renovation, and no shortage of surprises hiding beneath the slab. The result? 252m² of beautifully crafted living space, complete with engineered hardwood floors, fully tiled bathrooms, a brand-new kitchen, central heating, and cedar and stone schist cladding that feels right at home in the Arrowtown landscape.

This popped up in our inbox today and it stopped us in our tracks.

Thirteen years ago, after the earthquakes, we were asked to help repair a badly damaged home.

Today, the homeowner emailed us after a Facebook memory popped up from that time, thirteen years later.

Seeing these photos side by side is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.
This home went from earthquake munted and surrounded by a ruined garden, to still standing strong more than a decade later.

We are incredibly grateful to Elizabeth for trusting us with her home, and for taking the time to send this message through.

Projects like this are never just about building. They are about people, security, and doing the job properly so it lasts.
