Injection moulding Technician and Die Setter

Action Plastics Limited are a Christchurch based plastic injection moulding and tool making business which has been operating for over 40 years. We have a solid customer base and are always working with new clients and projects focusing on superior customer service.

We are looking to bring on a new team member to be part of our ongoing growth.
To be suitable for this role, you may have experience in, or be willing to learn:

• Mould Die Setting
• Machine set up
• Material preparation
• Raw material mixing
• Focus on QC and QA

Experience preferred as you will need to hit the ground running.

You will be willing to take on all and new tasks to fit in with our team who all work very well together.

Remuneration will be in line with your experience, and we pride ourselves on paying well for the right people.

Start and finish times will require your flexibility, but you will be given good notice of hours.

Action Plastics (AP) worked closely with Marcus and Bruce from Trap Tools Limited to develop their LureGard™ imitation hen’s egg. This egg is used in predator traps all around New Zealand as a lure for native bird predators (stoats, rats etc). It is far more practical than real eggs for the personnel working in the rugged NZ bush.

Action Plastics advised on tool design for efficient production, and polymer choice to ensure strength, resistance to chewing, yet with no other odours to deter predators from approaching the trap. AP also ensured the LureGard™ logo was visible in the imitation egg so it was easily identified.
