Ive managed workshops and trained in the Automotive field, Ive lectured at the Instutution Of Technoligy for 6 years to a variety of workshops that are doing there apprenticeship in Auto Electrical and Mechanical and helped them

to complete there courses. I was involved in full time students that were at the Instutution of Technoligy. Ive operated my business for over 24 years being mobile in Auto Electrical Repairs and Diagnostics and Mechanical Repairs and Services.

A short week but a week of Mazda's with oil pressure problems :)

Why you should get your car serviced on a regular basis.

The problem that the client was having was the oil light with a oil notification coming on while driving.
Someone was called out and could not find a problem and reset the ECU to turn the light off and the display.

Clearing fault codes without assessing why the code was created could be one of the worse things to do as this could result to a new engine.

After capturing live data from the engine the result was low oil pressure and the oil had a high level of oil dilution, what a shame i did not take a picture of the dilution graft.

Before and after oil pressure that was taken before the service and after the service including oil temp and coolant temp.
These live data tests were done at idle and was also done with road test.

The results of good oil pressure comes from low engine contamination, regular service with a good quality oil filter and the correct oil.and not forgetting a well operating oil pump :)

After completing the service and a test drive it was time to do a complete recheck of fault codes and live data performance of the engine live data capture is a fantastic tool to use when doing a service :)

Just another crazy day to the start of the new year :)

Complements to the season and hope the year brings you much joy and happiness :)

Just another one of those jobs that everything was thrown at it and miss diagnosed.

Sadly he was told to replace the fuel pump, carburettor and plugs but $800 + later it still was not starting even though it had fuel and spark but no start :(

Keeping diagnostics simple with a procedure can save a lot of time, $$$ and the frustration of not having the car running after all those $$$.

After a short time it cost $40 for the part and a call out fee and was all up and running again, happy days :)

Just one of those fun jobs out at Burwood today :)

2005 McGregory Mach Kit Car with a MX5 engine and a aftermarket ECU.

It would crank over but not start, had spark, fuel pressure and switching signal at the injectors but still no start.

This was a quick fix on the electrical system and runs like new again :)

In some cases i come across Kit Cars that do not have OBD2 connectors even though the car is run by a ECU just like this one, so it comes to basic diagnostics and scoping one of the best tools :)
