Building a home fit for champions!

We had the absolute pleasure of bringing Gary and Corien's beautiful Christchurch home to life.

For Gary, a New Zealand billiards champion of over 20 years, and Corien, the New Zealand Women’s pool champion, their home needed to be more than just a place to live—it had to be a true reflection of their passion. We thoughtfully customized this space to perfectly suit their love of the game.

The best part? Delivering a smooth and enjoyable build process so they could focus on what they do best. They couldn’t be happier living in a space designed just for them, and we couldn't be prouder to have brought their vision to life!

“The build process with Concept 2 Construction was outstanding from start to finish. When we began the project, I had clear goals – a high-end finish delivered on time and within budget. They exceeded every expectation.

Right from the early planning stages, the team communicated clearly and regularly, outlining the programme, budget allowances and key decisions well in advance. Designed by Common Architecture and brought to life by our team, this 156m² architectural build is a masterclass in blending design with a challenging landscape.

Here are a few details that make this home so special:

The Structure: Steel portals, a timber floor, and a half-concrete slab over a block retaining wall.
The Materials: Clad in stunning cedar, with recycled Rimu used for the floors and ceilings.
The Environment: Built with 140mm framing, wool insulation, and a 45mm service cavity to allow the house to breathe naturally.
