Pavilion Part #3

What a joy it was to see the Prebbleton Pavilion completed in all of its charming old English splendour, situated within our clients’ beautifully landscaped property! It is slightly more sophisticated than the stable Jesus was born in, and with two power points and a gorgeous lightshade, it could quite possibly be the magical place for the arrival of any baby or person, divine or otherwise.

Christmas analogies aside, the pavilion is now complete, with the finishing touches of painting done; the intricately detailed lightshade fitted; and the doors attached!

If you have any design projects you would love to see come to fruition, then our builder Andrew has the construction expertise and the creative ability to make your dreams come true! We would love to chat with you about what you are looking for - "If you can imagine it, we can create it."

If you are also interested in our amazing tiny cabins, please check them out via our website and TradeMe site.

šŸŽ“šŸŽ‰With the impending arrival of the New Year, comes the end of the current year: with end of year graduations; children’s end of year assemblies; end of year work functions; and the end of endless school lunches and finding multiple missing school uniform items, and having essays/assignments/reading books/homework ready!!

šŸƒšŸƒAnd here at Cabin Central we will be seeing out 2023 here at our client’s ā€œTreehouseā€ renovation, with the end of the old, dodgy decking and cladding, and the construction of the beautiful, new Kwila deck and dual cladding!

✨✨What an amazing transformation so far of the ā€œTreehouseā€ - our progress pics really tell the story!

šŸ—“ļø šŸ—“ļøWe can’t wait to see more progress pictures in the coming weeks, and in the New Year as the Treehouse nears completion.

šŸ“øšŸ“øIf you have some before pics ready to transform into after pics with an amazing renovation like the Treehouse pictured here, then please get in contact with Andrew White here at Cabin Central. We would love to chat with you about what you are looking for - "If you can imagine it, we can create it."

03/12/2023

With Christmas well and truly ā€˜round the corner, and the New Year only weeks away, most of us are very busy in the hustle and bustle of preparing for the end of the year… There’s the list of Christmas presents and deciding who is buying for who, although hopefully no painful secret Santas 😬🫣; there’s figuring out who exactly IS hosting on Christmas Day and who is bringing what food; for some of us we are negotiating with former spouses/partners over parenting arrangements for our children; others are juggling work schedules and children; and yet more still are finding the perfect ornament for the Christmas Tree to remember a loved one no longer with us on earth.

Speaking of Christmas Trees, what kind of Christmas Tree ā€œputter-upperā€ are you? Are you the Hardcore Mr/Ms Christmas who is playing carols come November and has the tree up on November 25th? Are you the Conservative Ms/Mr Christmas who nonchalantly buys a real tree three weeks out from Christmas and ensures the Christmas Tree is carefully ornamented and ready for the big day. Or are you the Chaotic Mr/Ms Christmas who waits until the very last minute, then haphazardly drags the old plastic tree out of the cupboard/garage to placate the kids who are asking why we do not have our Christmas Tree up when every single one of their friends has had theirs’ up for weeks… šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜¬

THIS year times are a changing! Oh Christmas Tree, oh Christmas Tree, how lovely are your branches going to be when my children and I can adore them for a whole three weeks before Christmas, instead of a measly 48 hours on Christmas Day and Boxing Day!

THIS year I am going to buy a REAL Christmas tree. I am tired of being the last minute guy who procrastinates for no good reason. I want to actually enjoy the fruits of my wallet instead of doing the same old thing and waiting til Christmas Eve. I love Albert Einstein’s quote which says ā€œInsanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.ā€ We can apply the principles of Einstein’s words when it comes to Christmas Trees, sports, school, work and especially that job list of things to do around the house, for the house, AND regarding houses in general.

So maybe YOU’VE been thinking about your house, about renovations; about creating more space for your growing family or business dreams and goals… Perhaps it’s time for you to put Einstein’s words into action and do something different!! Have you considered a tiny cabin as an option for your business or accommodation needs? If you have, please get in touch with us here at Cabin Central, and do check out our TradeMe listing for more detailed specifications, or visit our website at www.cabincentral.co.nz. We would love to chat with you about what you are looking for - "If you can imagine it, we can create it."

And don’t forget to put up your Christmas Tree!

Kia ora koutou katoa and good evening! If you are a resident of Ōtautahi Christchurch here’s hoping you have enjoyed a lovely sunny, drizzly, hot, cold and windy long weekend, with typical Christchurch November Spring weather! No doubt there are a few sun burnt faces, perhaps some still slightly nauseous tummies, and tired bodies from a busy past few days which included the Canterbury A&P Show; Cup Week; and the Pacific Series Rugby League tournament (which three of my daughters played at and thankfully came away unscathed!) and now time rolls on toward Christmas!!

It’s ridiculous how every year the first couple of months literally fly by, as people return from summer holidays; the kids go back to school preceded by the mad and expensive rush of purchasing stationery and now devices, uniform, and hunting out last year’s lunchboxes which you desperately hope have been emptied out and cleaned after being in hibernation for approximately 39 daysā€¦šŸ˜¬šŸ˜³

By the time March rolls around, Easter very quickly ambushes us, and finally after we detox from an overload of chocolate, some sense of stability and routine sets on from about May and to early November. And now we are in the throes of thinking about Christmas plans and presents; ensuring our teenagers get to their exams; attending all of the last assemblies of the year; we are probably about to embark on some
sort of crazy fitness regime to lose 10kg in 20 days šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø; and perhaps we are beginning to even think about goals for the new year…

As well as thinking about goals, I am conscious some of us are remembering those who have already left this world; as well as family members who are heading to other parts of the world, or country - goodbyes are always hard, particularly during the festive season, which is not always festive for some.

If you ARE contemplating goals and plans for the New Year, particularly if they are plans to increase the living space of your home via renovations, OR with a tiny home, then Andrew White from Cabin Central is your man!

Andrew is currently renovating an older weatherboard house, which is raised high off a decent slope on the beautiful shores of Diamond Harbour - our client calls it her ā€œTreehouse.ā€ Andrew has removed the existing deck, rebuilt a larger and sturdier deck; installed new double glazed windows; and he is re-cladding the whole house. Check out the recent progress pics and stay tuned for more updates!

If you are interested in building a tiny cabin, or renovating your existing home, please check out our TradeMe listing for more detailed specifications or visit our website at www.cabincentral.co.nz. We would love to chat with you about what you are looking for - "If you can imagine it, we can create it."

Pavilion Part #2!

On Friday, Cabin Central were thrilled to be able to deliver the beautiful Pavilion to our excited clients in Prebbleton! It was quite the process having to remove the windows prior to transport; prepare the pavilion with some added temporary struts to provide more stability for transport; and have our amazing transport operators collect the pavilion from our yard, then transport it onto our clients’ lawn from which we manually hoisted it onto the concrete pad!

Our clients were eagerly anticipating the arrival of their pavilion which will only served to complement their expansive and carefully landscaped section, which they have been patiently waiting to complete for over ten years! With the pavilion in place on its concrete pad, and the windows reinstalled, the finishing touches will be completed this week, including the installation of the doors, lights, and final touches of paint.

Creating a pavilion with its various angles and features is no small feat. And our motto here at Cabin Central is: "If you can imagine it, we can create it." So whether it is a pavilion you desire, a tiny cabin, some floating shelves, or another creative dream, Andrew is your man! Andrew is a licensed builder (LBP) with over 20 years experience in the building industry and is passionate about finding creative solutions to homeowners' needs - we would love to chat with you about what you are looking for.

Please stay tuned for Part #3 of our Pavilion story still to come!

Here at Cabin Central we pride ourselves in taking care of the finer details. Not only are all of our materials for our tiny cabins sourced within New Zealand (drastically reducing potential for delays in delivery) but our trustworthy builder is a master craftsman! Andrew started his building career over twenty years ago as a boat builder, and his ability to think outside the box bringing creative ideas to life is evident in his latest project he has been working on…

Our clients ordered a covered pergola, also known as a ā€˜pavilion’ (I did have to google that), to beautify their garden and create a space within which to enjoy their gorgeous gardens. Think Sound of Music and the scene where Liesel and Rolf waltz around the pavilion leaping from seat to seat whilst serenading each other with the famous coming of age song ā€œI am sixteen, going on seventeenā€¦ā€ And while our pavilion clients are perhaps 60 going on 70, and their pavilion is on a much smaller and less grandiose scale, clearly enjoying the beautiful things in life are a priority and we are excited to see their reaction when we deliver their completed pavilion next week!

The structure and roof are complete, and last week the pavilion was painted with primer to prepare for the final coats of paint and the windows and door being installed. You can see the progress pictures above - stay tuned for the follow up post next week!

And if you are not in the draw to win two x $50 Coffee Culture vouchers, please see our last post for details!

Voting. Politics. Parties. Candidates. National. Labour. And of course Winston Peters… 😁 These are all words which we have been continuously bombarded with over the past weeks and months. For some of us it can feel overwhelming even thinking about voting! Hopefully most of us have voted today.

Decision making in life can sometimes be a weight upon our shoulders, particularly when we aren’t well informed, or we are not experts upon the issues we are having to make decisions about. Yusss!!! School holidays are nearly over and term four is almost upon us! I don’t know about you but I (Stacey, Cabin Central’s Facebook author), actually love school holidays having a relatively flexible schedule, not having to keep tabs on my girls’ five separate school uniforms, or make lunches for my two babies (my teens make their own lunches - read: one takes a packet of noodles and a mandarin to school; one takes a carrot and ends up cranky and extremely hungry after school; and one usually makes a suitable lunch fit for the competitive athlete she is), I get to have more time just hanging out with my daughters - even though I’ve had to referee about 37 arguments per day..! This possibly has something to do with the fact that about ten years ago I homeschooled three of my children when I had five children aged 10 and under, so only having to have my kids at home for two weeks straight, seems like a piece of cake!! And I do appreciate that for some parents who work full time it’s pretty stressful trying to organise care for your kids, especially if they are Primary School aged! Kudos to you all for surviving the holidays thus far!šŸ––

School holidays CAN be a reminder for some of us that it would be great to have just that little bit of extra space for family members visiting from out of town; for teenagers who are becoming less tolerant of younger siblings; or for one’s home business! If these thoughts have crossed your mind these holidays, while you have been navigating through a minefield of 782 LEGO pieces strewn about your living room, then Cabin Central’s amazing builder Andrew is your man!
