We’re looking for an experienced Class 4 Truck & Trailer Driver / HIAB Operator to join our Christchurch-based team.

This hands-on role involves the transport, loading, and delivery of structural steel across Christchurch and the wider South Island.

✅ Proven Class 4 Truck & Trailer experience
✅ HIAB operating experience
✅ Strong knowledge of load restraint and safe loading practices
✅ Forklift Certificate
✅ High commitment to Health and Safety
✅ Class 5 Driver Licence would be advantageous

Building on the Edge 🏗️🌊

Another residential project taking shape in a seriously challenging location.

This build is progressing on a steep hillside site, with the structural concrete walls and steel framing now coming together. Working with the terrain, tight access and elevation makes projects like this all about careful planning, precision and the right equipment.

And with views like these, it’s easy to see why the effort is worth it. 👌

🌊 Views for days... and we're only getting started! 🏗️

Our Sumner apartment project is coming together nicely, with the structural steel now taking shape against one of Christchurch's best backdrops. With the help of our friends @ Devcorp Construction👏

This development will feature 11 modern two-bedroom apartments, each designed to soak up those stunning ocean views. 🌅

A huge shoutout to our foreman Schalk and the crew for keeping things moving safely and on schedule. We can't wait to share more progress as this coastal beauty comes to life!

✅ At least 3 years' experience in structural steel site rigging or er****on
✅ Strong knowledge of rigging, crane signals and structural steel installation
✅ A commitment to quality workmanship and health & safety
✅ A positive attitude, strong work ethic and enjoys working as part of a team
✅ A valid New Zealand work visa or residency

The role includes carrying out site er****ons to relevant specifications along while working in accordance with VIP Steel Ltd policies. This roles requires a motivated, reliable individual who takes pride in their work and has a high level of health and safety 💯

🚛 Proven experience as a Class 5 Truck & Trailer Driver

🚛Experience in driving different trucks, including those with Roadranger gearboxes

🚛Experience in transporting wide loads and holds a Class 2 pilot licence

A great milestone for the team at Park Ridge Development, Queenstown. 🏗️

Our new IVECO truck teamed up with the Palfinger HIAB for its very first lift — placing the first piece of structural steel on the Cook Brothers Construction site.

🏗️ Big progress happening in Wānaka!

The Southern Lakes team is proud to be bringing the new Best Start Preschool to life, with the structural steel now taking shape on site.

Structural Steel now well underway on site — turning plans into a space that will soon support learning, play, and connection for local families.

This project is being delivered in collaboration with Cook Brothers Construction and we’re looking forward to reaching the next milestones together.

A massive effort from everyone involved so far — great teamwork, great progress, and plenty more to come.

Big progress happening down in Timaru for VIP Steel👌

From first steel to standing tall — this shed build has come together fast, with an impressive 6–8 week turnaround from start to frame completion. Massive effort from the crew on site to keep things moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Proud to see another large-scale project taking shape in South Canterbury and showcasing what can be achieved with strong planning, teamwork, and commitment on the ground. 🔥
