Led by Technical Leader Rui Li, who combined proven seismic principles with fresh thinking to solve a very real design challenge, our structural engineers developed our miniaturised BRB. From concept to prototype and testing, the team worked through uncertainty, pressure, and complexity with technical rigour and collaboration.

It’s a powerful example of what happens when expertise, curiosity, and support come together, and when engineers are trusted to explore “what if?”

Blush, bubblegum, flamingo, fuchsia, salmon, candy floss, peony pink… Kirk Roberts offices around the country were seeing every shade of pink this week in support of Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.

Our Auckland office kicked things off with a fantastic Pink Ribbon lunch, welcoming neighbouring businesses to join in and support the cause. There was homemade baking, pink decorations, pizza, donations flowing in, and even a few ping pong battles thrown into the mix. It was a great example of community coming together for something bigger than ourselves.

Across the regions, our teams continued the pink theme in their own way. Christchurch hosted a Pink Ribbon morning tea and raffle with some incredible prizes, Tauranga enjoyed beautifully crafted cupcakes and sweet treats, and Queenstown kept the team fuelled with pink buns and chocolate croissants.

It’s always inspiring to see our people get behind causes like this with so much passion, enthusiasm, and generosity. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, baked, organised, decorated, and supported the events across our offices. 💗

Timber offers architects aesthetic warmth, a natural fit with New Zealand’s landscape, and the potential for sustainable, lightweight, and cost-efficient construction. Turning those ideas into structures that perform over time is where engineering makes the difference.

We ensure timber concepts are structurally sound, durable, and achievable, without compromising the design intent. Our experience includes multi-level and high-performance timber projects such as Te Pā Tauira Student Village in Dunedin and the long-span timber work at Gunyama Park Aquatic Centre in Sydney, where careful detailing and connection design were essential. As well as stunning residential developments like the Oceanbeach Townhouses in Tauranga.

Beers, BBQ, and celebrating great people!

Last Thursday we hosted another fantastic Christchurch client event, bringing together great people from across the region over good conversation, cold beers, and some seriously impressive BBQ.

A huge thank you to the team at Beers and Bacon Brothers, who rolled in with their incredible custom BBQ trailer and treated everyone to a mouth-watering spread of slow-cooked meats and classic low-and-slow barbecue done right. Hearing more about their story and passion for what they do made the night even better.

It was a great opportunity to celebrate the projects shaping Canterbury, the partnerships behind them, and the people we enjoy working alongside every day. Events like these are a reminder that this industry is built on strong relationships and shared success.

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a great evening.
