Another great project we completed this year was the 1855 Barbershop in Prebbleton Village.

Our team worked hard to create a space that perfectly captures the industrial vibe that the client was after. With exposed structural columns, old brown rustic brick wall cladding, and polished concrete floors, this barbershop is the epitome of urban cool. Rich timber planking on selected walls and beautifully crafted solid oak worktops add the perfect touch of warmth to the space.

MEET THE TEAM // Graeme Hartnell - Quantity Surveyor

Graeme Hartnell is a founder and integral part of Image helping shape the business over the last 30 years.

Graeme who is a Member of the NZ Institute of Quantity Surveyors (MNZIQS), commenced employment as a Quantity Surveyor with Fletcher Construction in 1979. After a 2 year period overseas Graeme returned to NZ and became a founding partner of Image in 1992.

Since then Graeme's involvement with Image has been as both a Company Director and in-house Quantity Surveyor.

Some distinguishing attributes related to Graeme Hartnell include: incurable romantic, eternal optimist and long-time fan of Charles Bukowski.

MEET THE TEAM // James Woods - Director

We would love to introduce you to the team here at Image.

James Woods became a Director at Image in 2003 and undertakes the role of Managing Director of the Image companies and is also Project Director of the company's challenging projects.

James began his career in the construction field 23 years ago as a Carpenter with C.C.L. He has since worked in all facets of building - specialising in Architectural Housing and Education Projects.

James is an active member of the NZ Institute of Building and has been recognised with Chartered Building Professional status. He holds a Site 3 licence (Department of Building and Housing) in Building Management. He has memberships with NZ Master Builders and NZ Certified Builders.

When not at work James enjoys spending time with his family, He is married to Sally and has 4 children. He coaches junior rugby and cricket at the local club. He has a strong love of music and spends many hours listening all types of music and playing the guitar.
