This week marks our first full week of the South Canterbury IDC contract. Over the school holidays, we hosted a community connection event in partnership with the Crusaders. It was a great opportunity to connect with local stakeholders, subcontractors, suppliers, and their families.

Over the last 12 months we’ve had a number of staff reach some significant long service leave milestones, with a large number of these staff being in Christchurch. Yesterday we held a celebration morning tea to recognise those staff and their achievements.

Eion celebrated a massive 25 years and Wayne, Alfie, Phil, Tom, John, Chris, Peter R, Peter W, & Jeremy all reached 20 years.

We’ve also had some incredible milestones across the wider Isaac Group, with those staff being recognised at the latest roadshows. Jason, Jonathon & Wayne celebrated 25 years, and Murray has clocked up over 40 years with Isaac!

Some exciting news from the Selwyn District last week! We’ve been working on a new crumb rubber asphalt mix from our Christchurch plant, which was used by HEB Construction in a landmark trial. Rubber crumb is produced from old tyres that would otherwise end up in stockpiles or landfill.

Today, the Selwyn District Council laid the country’s first full rubber road surface showcasing how innovative thinking can turn a nationwide waste challenge into a local community benefit.
